There is only mediator between us and our Father in Heaven, he is Jesus Christ. You pray to him and not this fake god, that everyone thinks is listening. Sad to see sheep stuck in the devil's barb wire fence and still expecting to eat the green grass on the other side.

Thank you, Sr. Amanda, for reminding us that it is not what we do that ultimately leads to our fulfillment and happiness, but what we are willing to let go of in service of our Lord that ultimately completes us. For its the myriad of earthly attachments that siphon off our energy, time and talents away from serving God that leads to our disenchantment with life.

Correct, the statue itself can't do anything for them, as Scripture & the Church teaches us: "Moreover, that the images of Christ, of the Virgin Mother of God, and of the other saints, are to be had and retained particularly in temples, and that due honour and veneration are to be given them; not that any divinity, or virtue, is believed to be in them, on account of which they are to be worshipped; or that anything is to be asked of them; or, that trust is to be reposed in images, as was of old done by the Gentiles who placed their hope in idols; but because the honour which is shown them is referred to the prototypes which those images represent" (Council of Trent, 1563)

1. Why was only the book of Psalms used to convert Aboriginies to Christianity? 2. Why did Martin Luther of Germany often gave sermons about when to embrace the Devil? 3. Why is the Godchild of Saint Nicholas the Devil and he's Black "Maroon" and why is Baptise, Christian, and Godchild synonyms? 3. Mother Teresa and Mór Teresa are synonyms for Black Teresa. Is it because she was a Indiêr and does that mean Mother Mary was also Schwarze or Moriaanin? If that's the case than why are the Schwarzen so repressed globally? Whether it be Melanesia or Indo-China, or Abyssinia, North, South and central Amerikas... Even Jesus cooked soul food but I don't see any of these religions promoting soul food today.

Thank you, Sister, for this admonishment from scripture. Marriage is increasingly viewed as a transient and transactional interaction in this day and age, rather than a life long commitment it should be. Much of this stems from the way people are raised prior to marriage, where such virtues as sacrifice and honor are seen as quaint notions of a bygone era. Nearly every aspect of societal decline can be linked, either directly or indirectly, to the erosion of marriage. If the Church is to live up to its calling, and act as a the glue to unify the world, it must instill in its members the value of marriage, emphasizing the value of sacrifice that such a sacrament entails.

Why pray alone when you can also ask your mom to pray with you and for you? Yes. Amen you can always go directly to Jesus that is a precious gift. Jesus is the One worthy of our worship and prayer. But to pray "with", we are invited and encouraged to pray with one another, why not pray with the one that perfectly consented to God's Will in her total YES to Jesus, to God the Father, and to the Holy Spirit. Mary as a human perfectly consented to God's Will and she is not only a model to us, but desires us, intercedes for us with a mothers heart to do the same.

They are not praying to the statue 🤦♂️ the image is just a representation; it does not contain any divine or spiritual essence as if it were literally a deity or another supernatural entity. And Catholics aren't the only Christians who use representative images, so do the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, (to a lesser degree) the Church of the East & Anglicans.

Thank you, Sister Allison, for this unifying message. So much of what afflicts the broader Christian world is the result of petty ego and tribalism. Christendom has been balkanized into so many competing communities, and this fragmentation has become a roadblock preventing the body of Christ from being the evangelistic force that it could be. While it is important to stand up for moral truths, we must also be willing to accommodate for unique ways in which the love of Christ is expressed in various Christian communities. As Jesus said in Mark 3:25: "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand."
