The new 'box' properties are horrible and nothing compared to the once beautiful Shell Cove House. Disgusting that planning permission was given to the developers. No doubt a lot of people got 'back handers' so that the plans would go through. It adds nothing whatsoever to the area or indeed, Dawlish. All i can summise is that all the councillors who voted for this monstrosity are themselves truly souless, heartless and irresponsible. RIP Shell Cove House, may you rest in peace. Personally I hope everyone who has had anything to do with this disgusting mess is haunted. Serves them right. Disgusting 😡😡😡

Where are all the trees and greenery it looked a little plonked into the landscape although it is a vast improvement on the usual red brick identikit housing estates, way too much tarmac would have been better with resin bonded gravel

Absolute sacrilege of beautiful, sacred Shell Cove House 😢. Omg!! I still can't believe developers got planning permission to totally decimate the beautiful, historical Georgian mansion that was Shell Cove House. It was totally unique, it had massive grounds, beautiful trees, plants, wildlife, an orchard, tennis court, wonderful swimming pool and small pool for children, a bird hide, ropes and swings, beautiful gardens. How on earth did this get passed??? This was a totally unique holiday destination for countless families over the 40 years it was owned by the Jameson family. Such a shame it was pulled down. For what? Box like structures. Totally inappropriate and horrid to look at, absolutely no character. I hope everyone that has ever been there will haunt this site forever. What an awful load of rubbish. Those involved need to hang their heads in total shame. What an utter waste of a beautiful, Georgian property. Words fail me 😭😭😭

Except for your ‘omg’ I agree with your post. Shell Cove was an incredible place. They should have denied permission to bulldoze it. These new buildings are an awful, soulless, mess. Shell Cove was indeed a little taste of paradise. We were so lucky to experience it. But it was, truly, nothing compared to what is to come in Jesus Christ’s glorious eternal kingdom, for all who believe in Him. Believe and repent today. He died, shedding His blood for our sins. (Hear the simple, beautiful gospel and why it’s so important on the Living Waters channel.) God bless. 🙏
