Thanks for sharing this. When I started into trout fishing I bought ultralight first, because that's what the internet said to do. Then I bought light-power rod on a whim. I use the light rod more often now because it seems I can actually have some direction over my retrieve in a stiff current. Currently shopping medium-light rods now.

Hey Eric just a tip when you ran at that group of pheasants they could see and hear you before you could get in range next time you should try and sneak up as close as possible and if they do see you then you run at ‘em and if you do that you will be likely to get more than one happy hunting!

A friend of mine plucked a pheasant, put in a citrus based brine overnight and smoked it the next day. It was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted.

Or, try popcorn pheasant. Make it like popcorn chicken, just use a good seasoning. Just tried that myself, and I thought it was pretty good.

I haven’t seen this many pheasants in 10 years. Ever since the PAGC closed two of the 4 hatchery’s and since we pay $25 for a license pheasant hunting is a joke. But nice job you got a good spot.

Do you simply get enjoyment out of yelling private property? I could understand if it was a younger guy who clearly is just violating your property. Here though, why wouldn’t you just be respectful as this is obviously an old man who likely has dementia. Even if he doesn’t, he may just be unaware he’s on private property. You can give people the benefit of doubt sometimes and be respectful while still getting your point across. Then to upload it “caught red handed”. Really not a good look.
