I knew about the sunstone mines in the area, didn't have a clue about the other minerals or Flook Lake. Just one more reason to go to my favorite hot spring.

Is there a hiking trail in that same area? Do you have to hike to the springs?
18 күн бұрын
Yeah you do and if it's muddy as it ALWAYS is you'll slide off the trail down 100' onto the rocks of the creek.

My dad was a Forest Ranger and we lived in Austin from 1944-1948. I learned to swim in hot springs. Walti's, mud bottomed pool, was in Smokey Valley North of Hgy 50 about 15 miles and a concrete pool was South down by Kingston about 30 miles. I never heard of Dianas punch bowl. Probably a good thing, it looks dangerous. Iguana

the hot springs are in the pool next to the creek? I didn't realize I had the option to walk or I would have gone there when I had the chance... great place to see the 2023 total eclipse on 10/14

I went there summer '22 and will never go back. The water STUNK like cow shite. It was filthy up at the source. There was an invasion of the Asian "cave crickets" or "camel crickets" who were all breeding in the dark moist environment under the many wooden pallets with carpet over them. There were attacking the smaller ones and cannibalising them right in front of me. They were EVERYWHERE! There was also not ONE place you could put your foot down without something sharp to cut your foot on. Either broken glass, rusty nails and wire. Take your pick.... it was disgusting but it looks clean now...

Sucks that from my understanding you can't go out there anymore since the ranch blocked access after people not respecting the land getting stuck this winter

This hot Spring is no longer accessible. It has no trespassing signs and even a sign that says if you can read this you are in range.. . as in you are in range to get shot. oh my God. We turned around

Prob favorite hot springs in NV. Our little camper couldn’t make it the last 2 miles so we parked at the side and hiked in. Well worth it still. Funny thing is that same camper (after the left turn into the area) was there when we were there. I imagine they are somewhat permanent residents.

The all green composting system works the best. Class One experience: Something that feels really good, is good for you, is good for others and serves the greater good. (Tony Robbins). Very important whether you do the green composting system or not you have to make sure that all customers use only completely safe soaps that are safe for the ecosystems and that are all naturally derived and not chemically altered. Whole plant soaps only.
