Question. How did you initially know it was the temp sensor? How did you test the sensor? Good video of an issue I havent seen anywhere else!
@simplycampervanconversions
@simplycampervanconversions 10 күн бұрын
@@walleyeye usually if the temp sensor has blown you will find it turned on blowing cold air when you haven’t turned it on. This is because the heater thinks it is overheating because the temp sensor isn’t working.

Great video. Is the smaller heater quieter than the large one? Or is the noise the same?

Have had 3 non worked correctly long enough to be worth bothering with , I took two of them to pieces completely and made one working one out the two . Unfortunately it has bearings that are either not fitted correctly or they are garbage it works but sounds awful. I used it in my house . I now bought the European model without any issues and btw I am a mechanical engineer

Great video one part I'm confused on is it seems the angle of the pump reverses from when you initially install it on side of your van and than right as your connecting it to the fuel tank. I'm guessing the orientation towards the end is the correct one?
@codyleehanson

I believe the position at the end is correct. At least according to the manual of the one I installed today.

The all-in-one is adequate** for home and shed heating. A van will need the fuel tank to be sited outside the living area. That makes the tin chassis pretty pointless. Better to buy the components separately.

Hello, neat video, & thanks! When changing the muffler does that effect how it runs? Also what is the decibels of each operating with original assembly and then after the changes? I've not had a diesel heater and listening to some of them on video sound too loud and annoying....air pressure noise and clicking. Again Thanks for the neat video!

Why do you need 1m between the exhaust and the air intake?

I'm in the same boat as you. Never welded and need to learn ASAP. Just bought a 40 year old VW T3. I won't laugh at your welding, I'm here because I never have welded before and you were brave enough to share your 1st time. Please, please, please wear safety specs when grinding or cutting. I have 1st hand experience of how bad it is when things go wrong. Pair of safety specs are £2.50 out of screwfix

What doesn't help is the speed some of these vans go. I've had campers fly past me when im doing 60mph in my Master. It all adds to the stress on the weak points.

Are the fuel lines the same internal and external diameter? My heater is on its way, but comes with green. I want to order white before it arrives.
@simplycampervanconversions
@simplycampervanconversions 3 ай бұрын
@@jamsams no the green line has a wider internal diameter which causes over fuelling issues in time.

@@simplycampervanconversionsah okay, thank you. So, as it's the black rubber that fits over the pipe, any white will be suitable?

Great video! Fixed mine with the help of your vid literally in 5 minutes. Tempted on having a sensor on store in the van just in case it happens again. My only gripe is the heater has only been used twice and it broke! But hopefully the new part is good. It’s on its cool down cycle now so let’s see if it turns off.

@@anthonyhoran2543 I would have one we keep a few spares in the van. Was the heater sat for a while between use? This seems to be a downside that’s what’s killed most of the ones we have repaired off.
