Sometimes people are less objective when they buy and build a kit because they are justifying their purchase. So I don't have a problem with someone who just reviews a kit they have no stake in. Plus if you review kits you didn't build you can review more kits. If you have continued to review other builder's kits I hope you have figured out an interview process with them; to get their take on the build.

for most tokustasus during the time, you can easily figure out how the vehicles combine to make the final form. parts forming, and multiple forms might have also been rare. this transformation looked so unique and cool to watch on TV as a kid.

I've got this and the X-wing kit. I had the Darth Vader Tie Interceptor, but like an idiot i traded it off. Point being is this, I'm thoroughly impressed with Bandai's level of detail, and the Y-Wing takes the cake detail wise. Part of the fun for me in looking at the parts is figuring out which donated model parts were on the studio scale models (IE, the rear of the fuselage has Pz.Kpfw. Panther engine intake fans). I think i might actually do different metal effects using Vallejo metallics... Looked like fun.
