It's kind of insane that this 44-part course is just out here in the ether for our education an enjoyment. Years ago, this would have only been available to someone in college taking a course, or someone who had hundreds of dollars to purchase it. I'm really enjoying this course!

Why banks like cloud storing solutions? Simple, it's cheap..no matter the risks that come with it. Some of the risks include: * no sure way to know where data is really stored * common to breach compliance regulations as data can and might be stored in non-compliant regions * delegating most of the cyber security responsibility to cloud vendor, vendor can read ALL your data * no way to delete data that once has been stored online in the vendors data centers (cloud) * true segmentation is very difficult to impossible to achieve online

Thank you for the great video. I have a question about the risks related to business objectives, particularly in the section discussing the risk control matrix. Shouldn't the risks be described as "unauthorized personnel gaining access to transaction processing systems" or "lack of segregation of duties"? Isn't financial loss considered an impact rather than a risk?

Yo thanks for this - ERM is one of those things that never shows up in school, or even in media. But for all those who grew up during the economic recession of the mid 2000’s, we all know too well what happens when risk management is thrown to the wind in favour of increasingly dangerous gambles. Traditionally, the business world never really looked beyond the scope of their shareholders because they simply weren’t obligated to do so. But with the ever growing reach of corporations in daily life, it becomes increasingly important for ERM to be a fundamental skill (not a “project” as this video teaches) for corporations to uphold. Do that well, and you don’t just protect your employees, customers, and shareholders - You also protect the people indirectly affected by the movements and results of your corporation; you might even be protecting the environment if you think about it.

Dear Friends, I have a question about internal control: 1/ I think internal control (IC) are activities that identify risks and frauds occurring in business processes and financial reports. After the IC (internal control) department detects risks, it will propose to management levels or the Board of Directors to identify risks and handle them. Question: Am I understanding this correctly?, I hope you can answer and add more. Thank you.
