These auto translated subtitles are so absurd on an Alice in wonderland level that I wonder why it writes Rubber Elephant, and not Rabbit Elephant.

Module owner here. It’s not basic, if anything it’s a lil too broad / fiddly. Treat it right though and WALLOP!
@dedidude22 күн бұрын
@@benlawrence4096 it's modular, you have to treat it right in every module and It's a kick! no complex science behind it. I'm sure I can make same sound with my 120$ Kick.

had it, sold it, do not regret it. Indeed, you can get some nice kicks out of it, but so can other, much cheaper kick modules. I really didn't like the nasty clicks as soon as you introduce transcients. Longer decays seem to cut the waveform when a new trigger is received and the decay is still there. This might not be an issue for people who are more looking for aggressive kick drums with lots of harmonic content. I always had trouble to find the right amount of initial click without beeing too random because of the cut waveform issue. Maybe it was on me and didn't fully get that concept. The sounds in the upper pitch register weren't my cup of tea either. The dynacntrl concept is a fresh approach, but I don't think it is a game changer. I found myself most of the time modulating some parameters with a pitch sequence from my sequencer to get the desired repetive result with variations. No need for all these sample & holds. Of course you would need some attenuaters if you want to modulate multiple parameters with the same modulation source. That's handy. I also had wished to get a ducking output on a 800$ module.

Nice module but $800 is just ridiculous. They really are taking the piss.
@M_orcan24 күн бұрын
honestly given all the hidden features and the extended development time I feel like it might not be that excessive. Like I'm never going to be able to afford one but they've clearly not spared any expense in making the absolute best thing they can
@McEnroe91124 күн бұрын
@@M_orcan I mean it’s a pretty basic kick drum. They’re hardly inventing the wheel here. It does sound good but yeah… I stand by my statement. When you can get an entity ultra kick for under 4bills, or a Jomox 09 mk2 for 400, 800 for this is taking the piss.

I know this is old, but I just got a new natural gate and I was surprised to see that the power cable that comes with it is set up for shrouded headers, which I thought was pretty nice. Takes the guest out which is not that hard but still.

Just got my physical Braids module after using it as the basis of many idiotic beginner VCV Rack patches! It's so amazing to have the legend in my hands, but the 4-character display is certainly a bit cryptic. Mine came loaded with Renaissance firmware already, so this video has been very helpful for A) learning my way around the physical module itself and B) understanding the advantages of Renaissance! I certainly don't think I'll return to standard firmware anytime soon. Such beautiful modules released by Mutable that will continue to change the game for years I feel. Honored to have such modules in my rack :)

I just want to play music, I rarely hear anyone playing braids in a musical context.. I want to sell mine and replace it with something that makes fat synth sounds easy peaszy..
@NICUofficial2 жыл бұрын
A fair point, but it really can be used for insanely beautiful and/or cool sounds in a musical context. It's like (almost) all modular gear in general - it gets more beautiful the more you use it. Really, that's true of all music gear. I know what you mean though. I think Braids had two things going on that led to this situation: It was a paradigm shift in a way for modular at the time it was released, also is sort of "tweaker's paradise" so I think it ended up getting featured over and over in "modular videos" that talked more about its capabilities instead of making music with it. Honestly I'm glad for that, since I'm just trying to make music with it over here too XD
