Dood, nice review! People are asking why you don't make more, you must play in that band, and have zero time to make more huh? What's the band name/info to check out?

I love the 24-105. I have bad eyes so the image stabilization helps. Also i prefer the range of 24 and 75-105. Planning on getting a fast prime next.

Very up to the point as a lot of people must have the same questioning, and at least I do. I guess most essential points have been mentioned and thanks for that. I was using a Canon 24-105mm for years but the quality was inferior to the Sony as I hear from users and I miss the range. I may want to carry a faster portrait lens along but I guess I'm going to try the 24-105 & sell my Tamron (which has served me faithfully though! Thanks again

Never got the love for 28-70(ish) range lenses. When I got hold of one it was "Okay...nice wide shot, not bad" and then zoomed out to the far end and then looked at what my eye saw and it was "Oh that gives me normal eyesight for zoom range!" Wow. I'd rather just take a 24/28mm prime and the good old 85mm prime. I swapped the 24-70 for a 24-105 F4. As for low light with the 2.8? Well now your cameras can go to ISO 8000+ okay...is that a bit old world thinking?
@viktorhogberg90703 жыл бұрын
Which one do you reckon would fit best with a Sony A7R III? It has 42 MP so it might compensate for the 75mm on the Tamron? Being able to still crop a lot in to get a telephoto effect. But at the same time is that one sharp enough?
@petvesta3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your down-to-earth review. I am getting the a7iii and considering the 24-105 lens. I have heard IBIS cannot be used with the OSS for more steady video. Is that true?
@cpr10873 жыл бұрын
It will use 3 axes from the lens and 2 from the camera, but the difference between this and only OSS is not visible
@Tricklarock2 жыл бұрын
@@cpr1087 So does this render the Tamron equal to the Sony in terms of shakiness??? I'll be using whichever on the a7iv. Thanks!

I’m really torn here. Currently own the Tamron but I think I would benefit from the IS in the lens because my addiction to coffee. It’s hit or miss from me on the Tamron with portraits, landscape is always a win. F stop is no biggie with the way these cameras perform in low light now, however, it’s the fight between the extra focal length as a daily driver and the macro capabilities on the Tamron

Have you experienced any focusing issue with the Tamron?
@craigcamera24574 жыл бұрын
Nope. It's on par with my Sony lenses in that category.
@thatsreallyamoon3 жыл бұрын
@@craigcamera2457 I've seen some videos of people testing the tracking, and the Tamron loses the person every so often. I think if autofocus is a priority for video, one is always stuck with first party; Sony. :( Probably doesn't matter for photos as much.

I loved your review! I went with the tamron as well, I enjoy night time street photography so f/2.8 is a must.
@igoryudnikov61982 жыл бұрын
Tamron is an APS-C lens, and APS-C mode has worst ISO performance, on both APS-C camera and FF camera in APS-C mode. Then low light performance of this lenses is near equal, but APS-C shots would have ISO 6400 and FF ones would have 12800 with near the same amount of noise.

Great video! You should have way more than 28 subs. Well it's 29 now haha. I am wondering if I should sell my 24-105 and get the Tamron instead. Is it holding up well?
@craigcamera24574 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Mine is holding up great, especially considering how much use it gets. You will notice it feels bit "cheaper" than the Sony in the hand, but it's also lighter. They're both great lenses. I'm happy with the Tamron for my uses, but the Sony has its clear advantages as well (range, lens stabilization etc.) Depends on the work you're doing.

I have got 24-105 G. My intention is like your opinion but I have a lot of prime lens e.g. 24 35 50 including 70-200 f2.8. So I keep 24-105 for travelling in daylight because the picture edge is contrast and sharp, and use it with other prime lens in the low light situation.

Corey Toms Realtor Glad it helped! The Sony’s colors are more true to life. It’s a great lens. Outside of the F4 vs 2.8 differences, I’d rate the Sony as the better lens in terms of overall performance.
