I've caught giant Lahontans out of Pyramid, fished at blue ribbon fishers like Lee's Ferry and the San Juan, surf fished for Corbina. But there's just something special about these little Southern California creeks that keep us coming back.

@@glenndotter5065 there are a couple reasons I wear that face shield/multi wrap. It’s to keep the sun off my face and for anonymity. I post videos on here and post other stuff on my IG. I don’t do it to get special treatment etc. I may have an “unmasking the Ghillie Guy” when I surpass 2k subscribers, but I’ll keep up with the same persona regardless.

I've fished it many times. Great fishing with lots of public access below and above Platoro and around Aspen Glade/Menkhaven. The only problem I have with it is the RAIN! Monsoon is brutal here. You realistically can only fish a few hours a day because of the rain. Don't EVER hit the stream without a rain jacket. What he is catching is normal, mostly nice browns. The elevation is around 9000 feet.

That was a nice cold day on the Rio! Seems like when the streamer bite is on there in the spring, it's really on. I was there yesterday, and the water clarity has dropped through the floor already. Had to go to Beaver Creek to soothe my ego.

There aren't a lot of good spots to fish on it below the dam, but I got 8 in an hour. I couldn't think of a better option that was nearby since the melt was messing up the free stones.

@@TheGhillieGuyYY4U Just keep driving north of the reservoir. It opens up in several spots where the river meanders through the field below. Nothing huge there, but plenty of fish to find. They get spooked easily, though. Still fun and a bit challenging if you aren't at least a little stealthy.

Brown lenses are the best from what I understand. I’ve heard Smith makes the best brown polarized sun glasses for fly fishing. I have Smiths but they’re are not with a brown lens. They work well but I think it’s time to buys a pair with brown lenses and test the difference.

For one, it’s NOT a mask. It’s a SA face shield or multi wrap. I use them to keep sun off my face and also for anonymity. I don’t have thousands upon thousands of subscribers and even if I did I’d still use these multi wraps. I don’t make these vids to be recognized and I would want special treatment.

It's a lot easier on the fish if you don't handle them while wearing gloves. Cloth gloves take the slime off of them really good.

I know what you mean. I used to use light weight sun gloves while fishing, but haven’t in a long time. I wasn’t wearing gloves in this vid either. It’s actually a Simms light weight, long sleeve hoodie. My thumbs are thru the thumb holes on the sleeve portion. I’ll try to remember to pop my thumbs out of that when handling fish. I always wet my hands before touching fish. I figured if those sleeve were wet as well it wouldn’t be much of an issue. There really wasn’t/isn’t much of the cloth portion that touches the fish if any at times. Thanks for your comment, I’ll try to do better with that. Also thanks for watching!

I like the canyon above South Fork, but it can get crowded during the summer months. There is more elbow room above and below RG reservoir, you just need high clearance to get more than a couple miles above it. If you're not looking for the biggest fish, there are many streams to consider, too.
