Lots of word salad, and a task force that sounds good on paper but seriously common and moral sense should have prevented rules that fine players if they don’t enter competitions. This situation should not have happened and for me anyone who is already part of ITTF/WTT should not be on this task force as they are already responsible for this situation. Let’s hope ITTF / WTT learn from this ridiculous situation

Shouldn't it be a Chinese member in this "task force"? I mean, if the two current Olympic champions retire from ITTF events (the main in the sport) it would help to understand the deep reasons behind their decisions, I believe someone who has trained in China and knows their systems and culture would be helpful. After all, the country is the No. 1 power in the sport.

Too little actual players in this Task Force. I understand why WTT does what it does. Its actually doing a lot of good for the sport. Taking it into the future. But, TT is stressful. Traveling is stressful. The players need to play for the local clubs as well. Fines for the players for not showing up sends the wrong message. There needs to be a golden middle path.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Let's hope this will improve the situation. I understand the WTT needs and motivations but we cannot forget about the main actors in this show, they also have their needs.

Always encouraging when an organization instead of admitting fault doubles down and victim blames. So WTT did nothing wrong to prompt FZD and CM to retire? They were going to retire some day anyway right? Then they announce prize money will increase. Well according to players who have not received any money for prize earnings what difference does it make if it's increased? An additional 20% of zero is still ZERO.
