Different and cool. How do you find shooting with the zve1 mate?

Love it. Only use it for the odd little project and it has its flaws... single card and overheating spring to mind, but it's better than many cameras I use 10 times the cost in terms of image quality

How many days roughly that big gas canister last you in those conditions? Which brand would you recommend? Thank you ..
@chrishomer3 күн бұрын
@@vvs3796 no idea mate, I tend to take fresh bottles on 1-2 day trips in the mountains, then demote them for use in local walks and stuff where they last months. Coleman Xtreme is great for cold, but to be honest, it’s better to keep them warm and then any old gas will do

Hi Chris, this is an amazing video. I'm thinking of camping in the same area in December, maybe looping around from Pen yr Ole Wen to Carnedd Llewelyn and spending night 2 at Ffynnon Llugwy. For the first night I had planned to camp at Ffynnon Lloer because I feared it might be too windy up near the summit of Pen Yr Ole Wen. But your campsite looks amazing and very sheltered. So I'm v tempted to climb up to Pen Yr Ole Wen before camping. Are there many sheltered bits up at the tip? Was your pitch after the short scramble which I think is part of the ascent? Thanks again....

Hi, got a question for you about the Benro tripod, I’m looking to get the same one ( currently using manfrotto )I do a lot of rugged landscape and wildlife photography and often have my Z 180/600 on if not using my Z 14/24. Anyhow do you think the benro is up to the task?
@chrishomer9 күн бұрын
Yes I’ve been using a Sony 200-600mm on it just fine. Often with 2x teleconverter at 1200mm, and even in APS-C mode at 1800mm. There are better tripods, but it does great

Beautiful work as always. Is this 'as is' straight from the camera or do you colour grade much?
@chrishomer9 күн бұрын
Thanks. This was SLOG3 with standard Sony LUT and a bit of grading yes. Black levels pushed around, desaturated shadows, slid into blue, highlights into orange. If I recall correctly

This les came out a decade ago and is being referred to as 'old' and'legacy' Good Lord then what can one say about Nokon AFs/ Wahat about R series leica lenses? My own belief is that lenses of yesteryear from good manufacturers are perfectly adequate and exceed the needs of most users. I rejoice when Photographers 'upgrade' as they sell their equally good lenses and I can buy them cheaply getting just as good quality. A bit sad though that they buy the latest kit believing it will improve their photography. Sorry for them when thei hopes are dashed.

Edit is quick and basic. Shot 16x9 but put into a 2.35:1 FCP project. SLOG3, used the standard Sony LUT. Crushed blacks to near zero, dragged mid range down a bit and kept highlights fairly low too. Desaturated the whole thing 50% or so. Dragged midtone and shadow wheels slightly into the blue. Nice moody feel. Great night. Cheers

Chris, don't underestimate your skills. Your videos are brilliant - you have an eye for detail and creating mood. I know hardly anything about photography but from what I do know - it's the light that creates great pictures and this time of year that's hard. Have you thought of running video/ photography courses. Think there's a quote Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach. I think if you taught it you would draw out more understanding that's already there. Hope that makes sense. PS would be interested in the course. Don't have a decent camera though. 😂
