And ur not using a forge battery that puts out more power
@nickthompson336216 күн бұрын
Don't the driver side inner/outer lugs loosen in the clockwise direction? The impact looks as if it's in the counter-clockwise rotation which would mean you're tightening them instead of loosening. Mine has zero issue removing anything I've thrown at it. Just an observation

2764-20 for 3/4 drive sockets. The 2967-20 is for 1/2 drive. Try a 1/2 drive socket. Adapters dont help. Can always exchange it for a 3/4.
@jeremycoyle33312 ай бұрын
Wrong tool for the job, bud. There’s a reason heavy equipment mechanics generally use 3/4 and 1” guns. Plus you have that adapter which robs so much torque you wouldn’t believe it. You should’ve gotten the 3/4” gun if you’re going to be taking lugs off big trucks.

This is bullshit. 1 you’re using an adapter 2. If it turned 1/2 inche, then it will keep going. 3. Why didn’t you show it not working in the video, you put it on the plug, talk and talked and took it off. For all I know, its a voice over someone else’s video

Is not garbage. You just have to know what to use for each job. It’s like using a 3/8 gun for a job that requires 1/2 gun. In this case you’re using a 1/2 gun for a job that requieres a 3/4 gun. Adapters decreases the torque just like extensions does. A 3/4 drive socket requires a 3/4 drive gun, simple.

Tire guy here, the gun you’re using will take wheels off, BUT you need to remove that 1/2 to 3/4 adapter and get a 33mmx1/2drive socket. Or just get yourself a 3/4” at the very least. I use my 3/4 on a daily basis and has removed a couple hundred tires at this point. Right tools for the right job!

No wonder it gets crazy hot hammering on something for 3 hours. Its rated for 1600 ft-lbs and takes off nuts torqued to 2400 ft-lbs. There is no way it wouldnt take off those lugs. Probably why you didnt show it working in the video. Mine took off the axel nut off of an older vw that had lock tight on it from the factory with only 2 quick pulls of the trigger usually you need to heat it up 1st so either you have a lemon, you didnt have it on mode 3 or you are just bs ing
@costavong60185 ай бұрын
According to generic adapter testing and review, the torque will be reduced by a minimum of 30% while using the adapter. It is expected that you cannot unlock the nuts; spend more for a 1/2-inch socket. In addition, it is better to use 2868-20, as this tools is mainly for industrial solutions, your gun is only up for commercial van or pickup truck.

The tool is fine. With a 33mm half inch drive socket and that impact it rips rusty lugs off at the heavy diesel shop I work at. If you still wanna keep it buy the right socket and lose the adapter to give it a proper chance
@jjb08945 ай бұрын
I own that impact and it’s an absolute beast. It makes more torque than the air impact we use at work.

This wrench is made to remove 2000 lb of torque. My lug nuts are only 400lb.
@afellowinnewengland61425 ай бұрын
The 2967 impact is rated for 1600 ft lbs breakaway. However, that's the rating when using a Forge battery not a standard high output or knockoff, so now you're down to 1500. You're also using an adapter instead of a proper 1/2" socket so you are even less effective. More importantly, truck lugs torqued to 400-500 ft lbs can require a 1800-2000+ ft lb tool to break free after corrosion sets in. This Milwaukee is among the most powerful 1/2" you can buy, but it's a 1/2" impact and you need something stronger for regular use...Anyway, put the proper socket on it, spray some Liquid Wrench on the lugs and soak for 30 minutes, set it to max level and they may break free. However, you should be using a Milwaukee 2869-20 like most truck techs.

@@Lalosfixit123that’s the wrong gun for that application. Minimum of a 3/4” drive. Preferably a 1” drive. The tool has the ability, but as others have mentioned using an adapter will never get the job done.

Exactly using a 1/2 on a 3/4
@afellowinnewengland61425 ай бұрын
First, Where did you get it? Is it a knockoff or legit Milwaukee? There's so many fakes out there. Second, why would you get a mid-size impact wrench for truck lugs?!? That's why they make high torque wrenches and bigger 3/4" and 1" impacts. This is the completely wrong tool for the job. Not surprised it can't take those off. You're like that dude at the boat ramp trying to tow a 6,000 pound powerboat with a Honda Civic and getting angry it doesn't work. The 2869-20 is what you want for regular truck lug service.
