Hello. I was just watching your video and it was fun to see all your REI purchases. You showed the coffee pot and said how your coffee is too weak. I had to write. Percolator camp coffee is my absolutely favourite coffee. I don’t know if you realize but but actually need coarse grounds for the coffee ( not fine grounds) and you need to let it percolate for an average of 5-10 min. You will see the coffee get darker. That’s a cute coffee pot. Give it another try.; it will totally be worth it. There is nothing like it early in the morning when camping. All the best. ☕️

Its called a Chuck Box, it stems from the Chuck Wagon which is what cowboys had with them to haul their food and cooking utensils when they were moving herds from one pasture the the next.

@@kaysdays8 No problem. I prefer overland camping and I am looking to upgrade my chuck box and that how I found your video (liked you video too). I am going to go with the rigid packout tool box system for my chuck box.

@@piratebob2010 over landing would be so fun. We looked at the ridgid pack out system also but figured it was best to start small for now but one day! .. There will be an upgrade. 😊

@@kaysdays8 totally understandable. I have 3 kidos and my wife and I, and we go boondocking for 2-3 weeks and we have minimized as much as we can but still need more room and portable.

🌷if you put smaller salt and pepper in the box you could add some basic spices like garlic powder, onion powder, Italian and chili powder or your preferences but a good start. Making a coffee kit to go along with your coffee percolator would be handi especially so you could find everything easily when you get to camp. Good luck and have fun. 😊

Are y’all reserving a specific site each night or just picking a spot?
@kaysdays82 ай бұрын
Just picking a spot. For this trip, we planned what “primitive campsite” we wanted as a little guide for ourselves, and then there’s usually a few areas within that campsite where you can choose to put your tent. This park also has regular car camping or RV camping if I’m not mistaken where it’s specific spots you reserve

So the longer that it jumps in the glass handle on top will strengthen the coffee. normally on the fire, first pot takes about 12-15 minutes. The second pot I just add more grounds. But the key is to watch the glass handle then once it’s bubbling up in it about 4-7 mins but over time you’ll figure out your strength on how long to keep it going

Hello, which camp did you stay in?
@kaysdays84 ай бұрын
Hi! This was at fortress cliff area campsite 36! We enjoyed it. We didn’t have anyone too close to us, the bathrooms were decently close, and there was a pretty view of the red canyon walls. + there was 2 trees where we put our tent, one of them wasn’t the biggest but might’ve been great for a hammock but not completely sure 👍🏼
