Define "aggressively". Like, turns too sharp at the end of the turn, kills your speed and breaks you at the wake? The terms used for what happens when you adjust your fin are so subjective. What does "more tip" mean for example? I think it would serve skiers better if the terms used were remedies for current issues the skier is having - can't get the ski to turn, can't get the ski to cast out, ski buckles me over at the waist on the backside of the turn, etc. Need more fin if this, less fin if that. Longer fin to correct this shorter fin to correct that.

Once I learned that the wing is more for a brake than just overall stability, I tried an opposite position where the wing pushes the ski up instead of pull the ski down. It turned the ski into a friggin' rocket!! I have never had so much speed over the wake but sure enough, I end up ahead of the boat Any more speed and I will be in front of the boat and get run over! Now I would rather keep this speed but somehow get more smear around the balls to slow down.

Hi I'm Frank from the Netherlands. I hadn't skied for a number of years, after an injury and I hesitated to start again on one of my fast slalom skis. Then I bought the HO Hovercraft, it's a great ski, I got out of the water very easily and the stability at lower speeds is great. Is also a nice ski to find your balance again at the start of the ski season.

hello sir, I am a beginner in skim boarding but I want to ask about something, how can a skim board have fins and in the same time I will throw it in the sand to get the speed and then surf with it ?
@robertspendlove75083 жыл бұрын
Why is it on the rise? I can tell you. With all the wakesurfing 15,000 pound boats out there, the lakes are choppy as hell. Skiing is gone, kneeboarding is a 7 am event. Wakesurfing will still be around but now if someone like me (kneeboarder) wants to do something mid-day, this is it. It's why I'm watching this today.

Do you have to be behind a boat for this to work? Because I'd rather just swish around the water on the board with anyone or anything around
@Wakehouse4 жыл бұрын
Great question, Kenny. 🤙🏽 While an experienced rider can, with the right foil wing, do dock-starts and pump their foil on flat water, you will certainly want to start behind a boat or PWC when first learning. When getting started behind the boat, start with a full-length wake or ski rope and shoot for a boat speed of around 8-10 mph. Does this help? Please reply back with more questions. We're always here to help! The WakeHouse Crew

@Doom_Head6214 жыл бұрын
I just got a foil, haven't even got it in the water yet. I'm living back in the town I grew up. no mountains here and I generally snowboard, mountain bike or downhill longboard/skate. One thing I do have in my new (old) backyard is lake Ontario. My hope is to be able to , eventually, prone surf on a big windy day and be able to link the choppy waves we get for a few kilometers. I have some skills in sailing and my edge control and balance are pretty dialed in. Plus I have a ski boat that I wake skate behind. Going to practice by cutting out, dropping the rope and pumping around... Thanks for reaching out!
@Wakehouse4 жыл бұрын
@@Doom_Head621 John Right on! 🤙🏽 Snowboarding, longboarding, surfing, and kiteboarding are all that keep me sane as well. Prone surfing and foil surfing is very doable here on our Great Lakes swells. A few of my friends learned to foil with kites, then on to prone foil surfing from there. There are many foil surf specific boards on the market. However, you can always start with an existing surfboard and attach your foil to it with this kit from "Foilmount" (link below). I put one of these mounts on an old surfboard and cannot believe how strong it is. No joke. foilmount.com/ You'll find a great benefit to learning behind your ski boat for sure. Remember to start at slow speeds (10 mph/16 kph) and on a full-length ski rope. Foils are efficient and don't need much speed to generate lift. The long ski rope will keep you away from the prop wash of your boat and back in the "clean" water. I'll leave you with this awesome video of Keahi de Aboitiz! 🤙🏽 kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2rcdJhsnsebsLc Cheers, my friend! Aaron

Personally I think these boots are terrible, I've broken 3 pairs, all tearing in the same spot and annoyingly all broke within the first day riding them. After any BIG stack the boots always have torn around the flimsy part just around the ankle. First pair, I had done up tight and when I had a big crash my feet didn't come out, but rode about half way up the boot. Ok, so when i got my second pair I had the the boots loose so If i had a big enough stack, my feet would slide out with ease. Sure enough, feet came out easily, this time only the right boot tore, it still tore in the same spot. third pair i had it not even tightened at all, just put my feet in, didn't do anything up, sure enough when i had a major stack, tore in the same spot. Safe to say i'm not getting these again. I was riding the ronix one boots and i loved them, never had any issues. I just lent them to my mate for the season, because i wanted to try new boots out. Also for anyone wondering, I ride a 2019 142 Ronix one Timebomb board.
