Would sell in a MOMENT in Australia, except for the Au$ price of $2.53! Just too much for a 49 foot in a market where "ocean capable" byers are few on the water at this price point.

OK a few negative comments down below so I want to chip-in if I can. Palm Beach are founded by Mark Richards, an America's Cup bloke. AC is all about high-tech and seaworthiness, being both bleeding-edge tech wise but also secure and safe. Whilst I can see why a broker would emphasise the luxury of the boat, the "lived feel", that's second fiddle to the real design behind the boat - seaworthiness. The engines and tanks are moved forward from most boat to a central location, it's why you don't get the mid-ship full beam masters of most boats of this type. The construction also includes hull-infused bulkheads for rigidity. Finally everything above deck is carbon fibre not GRP. This means the weight of the boat (centre of gravity) is low, and central. It makes for the smoothest wave-slicing ride you can get. So good it uses half or less of other boats of its type, it's just brutally, crazily efficient. And stable. I really admire the almost fanatical dedication to engine & fuel placement, they make accommodation to fit engine location not place engines to maximise accommodation. The result is a the opposite of a Gin Palace Harbour Queen. This is BOAT first, BEDS second. There are some EU makers who have the same idea, for example Elling (Netherlands) you access the engine from panels in the kitchen (galley) because it's so centrally located. But their reason was this reason - sea-keeping. Low weight, central weight. You can't beat the physics of it. There are many good YT videos on Palm Beach but the two most important I would suggest a watch are "Palm Beach Motor Yachts: The Sailor’s Powerboat" which goes through construction, and "Mark Richards Interview | Palm Beach Motor Yachts" where he talks about it from a personal perspective. If you want a couple more watches, BoatTest (back under Captain Steve) have two reviews (split into Features and Performance) and the Performance ones will show you sea-trials. The slightly retro "Gentleman's Launch" styling might not be to everyone's taste, if you like the Italian "seven star hotel" look with a busy mix of modern materials, that's horses for courses. Personally I love the woodwork and it'll hold up for years and decades, the glue-on fabrics look great at a boat show but can look worn out after 10 years. The slight disrespect in the comments I think would be put to rest if anyone where to be given a sea-trial of a PB on a choppy day followed by a more conventional boat (let alone a flybridge) in the same conditions, plus then see the big difference in fuel use. PB would then earn ANYONE'S respect.

@stevenfogerty2110 6 күн бұрын
@darthkek1953 they are, no doubt, a beautiful and very well craft vessel. However, I'm not convinced the gaping big water trap in the bow makes for a sea worthy boat. Handling "chop" is vastly different than battling into any kind of swell out at sea. I can't see the point of dropping that amount of money for a boat to just motor about Sydney harbour.

An unprofessional video and audio presentation accompanied by weak and sometimes inaccurate technical details in what is called an "in depth walkthrough and boat review". @@weloveboating Lots of ums and ahs, pauses and repeats in the audio. A presenter needs to be a bit more fluid than we mere mortals or it becomes very annoying very quickly. Several rehearsal walkthroughs should be undertaken for obvious reasons but mainly to identify any unknow or unsure of equipment/systems. Eg, the air-conditioner fan and heat exchange element in one of the cupboards could have been correctly identified and named. Scott probably did a better job than I could have done but I am not trying to be a presenter on a KZbin Channel. Hope this helps:)

@@rickwilliams5141 hi again Rick thanks for taking the time to expand and leave a lot of detail. I do appreciate that. Yes clearly I am a beginner that’s for sure. Learning as I go. WOW Scott you finally got a Fleming to tour. Great video mate. I really love Fleming, my fav is the 58 with the mid ship owners cabin. The engines are mounted on thick rubber washers and the shafts have PTO and are also encased in rubber essentially making them vibration free. All the mounting bolts are marked, so you can see if they need tensioning. The quality is second to none.
