This worked great on my debian 12 machine. But wheni do it on my Ubuntu machine it says that the folder isnt in $PATH.
@thecodingloftАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing! It should work just as well on Ubunutu. Since you say that the folder isn't in $PATH, it seems like the path to the executable file isn't correct or that the permission are not set to executable for that file. So it tries to look for the file in the default directories specified in $PATH.

Awesome, and how you do it if the file is uploaded by the user?
@thecodingloft3 ай бұрын
Great question. It would probably be very similar. Let's say you have a function that handles the user file upload. Inside the function, you check if it's indeed a valid csv file, then you parse it to a js object. From there, use the data as needed, e.g. show an array of possible information contained within each csv row. If you can share some code, I'd be happy to help more

seems like an unnecessary reinventing of the wheel. There is no situation that you cannot resolve with Intersection Observer over this workaround approach.
@supportic5 ай бұрын
Intersection Observer is way more performant than this
@thecodingloft5 ай бұрын
True, the intersection observer is generally preferred. But in some cases, you might want to have an additional check in the observer to see if the element is still visible, let's say after 1 second

This is some great stuff! I've recently been dipping my toe back into CSS, so it's been fun to learn about little tricks like this that help meet practical use cases. JavaScript is fun and all, but it's nice to let CSS and HTML do the heavy lifting for layout and look :)
@thecodingloft9 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes totally agree, CSS is really powerful and lots of interactive stuff can be done without JS

as someone who uses windows / mac / linux. This method removes the magic from the appimage. it would be nice if the .appimage included the icon by itself inside.
@thecodingloft Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. You're right, there are more steps compared to having the logo inside the .appimage. Curious to hear, what would be your way to go about it?
@alpacamale2909 Жыл бұрын
@@thecodingloft I am not saying your method is bad or anything, I am just saying the way linux works or appimages work don't give you that magic apple gives you where an application is just a fancy icon that you can drag and drop on a dock. it probably has something to do with how linux is structured.
@thecodingloft Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree, it would be nice if it was just a standard with every appimage to have the logo included and installed in the applications window.

I want to make multiple modals , but when I am applying its not working. How should i handle multiple model conponents
@thecodingloft Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! To be honest, it depends quite a bit on your setup. Do you one to have one modal that has several different steps inside? Then you could update the component to have a step state which changes on each button click and sends a different html for each step. Do you want to have different modals on different parts of your website, depending on the user interaction? Then you could have different modal states for each modal (showModalOne, showModalTwo, etc) that all correspond to a specific modal. You would also then have to update the show and close modal functions to only work for the target modal. If you have a JFiddle or similar, feel free to share so you can get some input! Hope that helps :)

I tried it with Krita but didn't succeed. Could you please do it for Kirata too?
@thecodingloft Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I've just tried it with Krita and it works the same way. Double-check the spelling of the filenames and inside the .desktop files, often it's as simple as having a lowercase or uppercase letter different. Let me know if that helped!
