Idk, I think there will be a soulcalibur some day but I definitely don't think they will give it an actual budget unless that LoL free to play fighting game does well. In any case I just hope they put Aeon in it this time and have rollback. Sc6 wouldn't have died if it had rollback and cross plat

Not sure why they would care about 2XKO doing well, but even if they did decide to make another Soulcalibur, it's still going to take the back seat to TEKKEN and be in the same position SC6 was in. I wouldn't be playing this game today or able to make videos for it if the game was dead. The majority of people buy SC for the single player and character customization, and what's needed if there is a next game for it to not take a back seat to TEKKEN because it's going to need the budget and resources to attract the casuals who were upset about reversal edge and lack of single player offerings in SC6, along with paying for the servers and Sony to get rollback and crossplay implemented so the player base isn't split between three platforms.

@xx_sedah I don't understand what you mean by SC6 being dead. I have it on Playstation 5 and XBOXONE. I had it on the XBOXONE first and have been playing it every since it was released. I have no problem finding a match 95% of the time. Ranked match, that is. I just started playing SC6 on Ps5 in 2024 and I would say that it usually takes a bit longer to find a ranked match on the ps5 at the moment, but the casual match scene is thriving for the most part.

I play ranked matches on the Xbox almost every day. Trying to achieve S1 status. People are still playing it. So how is it dead? As long as people are playing Sc6 I am not so worried about Sc7. I think SC7 will eventually be released someday. With that being said, I do hope for a better net code!!! I would like for the legacy characters to be in the game, and I would agree with you that we need a collection of the Soul calibur series all that's capable of online play. At least an HD Sc3 version.

It's final thoughts because the beta only lasted 5 days. It's random gameplay with the match that I played at the end of the video because the rollback was so bad that I cut my time off with the beta from there. Game needs to enforce a benchmark to make sure people can run the game at 60fps on PC like I explained. Otherwise the online experience is going to be a mess. VF5 been out for almost 20 years. Of course it's fun, but what might be fun for me may not be fun for someone else. For fighting games, you have to play them and decide for yourself. If there's something in particular that you want to know, feel free to ask.

An often forgotten part of soulcalibur 3! Love this element of the player actually visiting a store to buy in game items with currency you earned from playing :) adds so much character to an already wonderful game! Also super cool that you could unlock them as playable fighters! Wish more games added some charm like this to an otherwise forgettable task. Also, the music is gorgeous! 3's soundtrack is sooooo perfect. Thanks for sharing a niche part of a beautiful game :)

I was impressed by the beta and will be buying day 1. I somehow missed the shutdown date and though the beta would run for a longer period, so that was an unwanted surprise. However, I have learned that you can play the arcade version of 'Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown' via TeknoParrot if you have a PC - so that is great for now 👍

Chronicles of the Sword was the one mode that I did not play, but I sunk a ton of time into this game during college to the point where I realized that this would be my favorite fighting game franchise and have played it since. Soul Blade was the other game that I sunk a ton of time in trying to unlock everything.

@@victormontes7007 its from a stage/batyle in story mode. it’s really funky how the branching paths work, but anyone can reach their stage technically. But they all have to do different decisions at certain points. I literally had a new copy, beat the story once or twice, and then found the three shopkeepers in my third or fourth fight. It’s easier to look it up in guides tho. You might be talking about mission mode, which does unlock later on and I think you can just fight against them without having to go through the story mode. You can fight all the weird stages in that mode (giant statue, a fire ghost, legs with an eye, floating body but no legs, nightterror)

@sedah_xx just feel her playstyle doesn't fit like the rest of the cast. She got full screen projectiles. I'm constantly just blocking trying guess her 50/50s . Hoamahuru and Geralt were much better guest characters imo

Azwel feels the same way to me, and there are ways to avoid the 50/50 like using the game's defensive mechanics. This game is tough, but 2B is the best guest character they've added. People aren't buying the game for Geralt or Haohmaru.

They should've released the entire collection [Soul Blade, Soul Calibur 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6] for PS4, PS5, XBOX SERIES/ONE, SWITCH and PC. But not only that, they'll released all DLC Content and Characters and included all DLC content and characters on disc so they won't have to pay anymore.

The franchise is far from dead with the overwhelming success of 6 and having a second season at all. Releasing a collection would be very complicated, mainly due to owner's rights like Nintendo not wanting to share any of their characters with other consoles, or not wanting to bring old (too rated) games to current gen consoles. The Xbox was loosely based on the Dreamcast owned by SEGA, (I think someone from SEGA went on to work with Microsoft, not entirely sure though) this kinda explains why Xbox has the rights to the first SoulCalibur. As for PlayStation, Sony worked alongside Project Soul on SoulCalibur 3. I'm sure Sony won't share their products so easily either, though I don't know too much about the arcade edition. The safest thing they can do is re-release SC2 for PS & XBox and maybe introduce cross play (which most likely won't happen since SC6 couldn't afford cross play). A new installment now would go in vain since it will be overshadowed by Tekken 8. We should wait for Tekken 8 to live out its hype for a while longer, maybe another year or two. We also have to consider Bamco's current situation with a canceled game and the money lost from it, and how that resulted in predetory monetization tactics visible in Tekken 8. They could make money from re-releasing SC2 but would that be enough to make profit over the cost to releasing the game to modern consoles? If SC7 were to release soon, it'll probably be like SC5 (a very unfinished game) and will probably have a f*ck ton of micro transactions being pushed by Bamco. In terms of releasing a collection, it has it's own complications (mostly related to console exclusivity and the limits it places). As for the next installment, now would be the worst time to release the game or announce it because it'll be overshadowed by tekken and most likely share the same predetory monetization practices.

What evidence is there to say the franchise is far from dead when there’s been 0 news about it in years? Bamco is already excluding the Switch for certain games, so you can still release a collection without a Nintendo version. Soulcalibur was ported to Android after the Xbox version. Broken Destiny is an exclusive available on the PS5, so there’s nothing stopping them from porting SC3 outside of the original console version being a broken mess that would need fixing, so SC3 Arcade Edition would be preferred. SC6 didn’t get the budget to use rollback, so even if you still believe that the franchise is far dead, it’s still under Tekken’s shadow in that regard which will always be the case as Tekken is their main fighting game franchise. Tekken 8’s hype is already in the toilet if you look at player sentiment, and if they do decide to make SC7, it will probably be filled with garbage microtransactions just like it. Guess that’s the price to pay over having nothing. If they make an unfinished game filled with microtransactions, I just won't buy it seeing how Tekken 8 has turned out.

Naw it wasn’t a failure Bandai just gave up on it after S2 cause I’m pretty sure they didn’t sell the amount they thought they were gonna make. But if VII flops tho I’m pretty sure that will be the end of Soul Calibur

Season 2 wouldn't have happened if the game didn't sell enough. Plus it's been selling well after support for the game ended. I don't believe they were any plans beyond a second season due to COVID and to begin work on Tekken 8. If somehow this game with no marketing didn't sell the amount they were expecting, then it would be a failure. We're looking at the end of Soulcalibur right now. Tekken 8 is getting the focus. There's no mention of Soulcalibur except in a depressing Twitter post. And even if SC7 somehow becomes a thing, it'll be at least 7 years between games to where we'll still be wondering about this franchise's fate.

I'm also very big on customization, what I would add; different hair lengths for the same hairstyle (including hair ties). More transitioning hairstyles (ex: Tira, Cassie, Sophie, Amy, Hilde, & Setsuka), adding an undone hair tie to transition to a set hairstyle. Adding longer/more facial hair options and side burns. Music customizations, keep the current feature that allows us to select music right before a match, but add playlist features like Tekken. Bring back weapon demonstrations, how cool would it be to see your custom characters twirl their weapons in a sophisticated manner? The closest thing we have outside customization mode is in Libra of soul (encounter with Geralt, Azwel, & Grøh).

I feel like reversal edge gets way too much hate. Me personally I don't like having to be at low health to use a super move like mk11,1. I like having the current 2 meters that can be filled faster with RE. If anything there should be more game modes (currently; no ring outs, slippery floor & blow up), to add to it; no reversal edge, no critical edge, unlimited meter, etc. Also I really love how Haomaru has several different super moves (standard, low health, soul charged, soul attack, and soul charge at low health). I also hope they can add multiple weapon styles like in SC3 that do not need to be on base roster but available for Legacy characters/customization like currently having Rock's attire and several others.

It would be nice to see a SC game with a Tekken like budget but I doubt it. I say we lucky we got anything after 4 cuz a lot of the older fans say 3 is the last good one(some say 2) imo there’s no bad SC game but 4-6 could’ve been better.

It shouldn't have been a matter of luck that we got a game after SC4 because SC4 sold well, but it's clear that they don't want this franchise to compete against Tekken instead of giving it the budget and resources that it needs. Some people are going to say that SC3 was the last good one because we're almost 20 years removed from when it wasn't. Sentiment changed over time as people appreciate the amount of content that the game had. It's still one of my favorite games though, but every game gets judged through the scope of how it compares to SC2 as the high mark of the franchise.

@@xx_sedah Yea just like how old movies with bad reviews can become cult classics but for me personally I never hear hate for 3( tbh I was pretty young when it released). I usually hear ppl complaining bout 4 & up. 4 May have sold well but I always hear the series died there. Also that sucks cuz I hear Harada himself would like to work on SC again.

You're not going to hear hate for 3 unless you go out and look for it because its such an old game. There's plenty of videos about the franchise's downfall from SC3 onwards. The series died for a bit after 4 which Harada alluded to on Twitter with whatever was going on internally at the company, but the real killer was releasing an updated version of the game for PSP and leaving the console version to die. Harada worked on SC4 and probably has his hands full with Tekken and other stuff to work on another SC ever again. Who knows if we'll even see another SC with this long of a gap between sequels.

SC6 isn't a failure! Bandai is for letting so much good potential go to waste! Yes the franchise was already in murky waters due to the negative reception of SC4&5, both games I loved personally, but 6 was the literal comeback moment for the franchise and Bandai dropped it like dead weight. They didnt even bother with patch notes to help iron out some kinks with the game. Regardless, 6 will remain as one of my favorites in the franchise

The negative reception has been around since SC3. Even so, there was still plenty of interest in the franchise when SC4 released, and the potential with that game was dropped when they decided to make Broken Destiny. They released a number of patches to help iron out SC6, but unfortunately the game wasn't supported past its second season of DLC when the game could have benefited from additional updates.
