I saved this recipe and I never do because this looks the closest to my grandma watching her make them and I love them and they were big drop biscuits The only thing is I bought buttermilk cuz that's what she made hers out of can I substitute the milk for buttermilk please anyone who knows I appreciate the response and bring back a memory that I've missed so long of my grandma's biscuits so thank you for sharing your recipe

It tastes much better the next dry. And you are supposed to cover with foil after you frost it, and cool completely so the icing and the cake come together as one.

Gonna try this tonight with some slow cooked pulled pork! Might cut back on the spice since the pork was already rubbed down with various peppers and spice before I saw this ! 😂 My mama use robust say “worschter” sauce. lol

Most people from the south wouldn't put sugar in it. The corn is often very sweet on its own. We prefer a less sweet corn called field corn.

You must be from a different part of the south than us, then. Luckily, people are allowed to make things however they like and aren’t required to follow specific rules 🙂
