It's very neat indeed, but I wouldn't call it a "revelation", since this has always been a known feature of several Yamaha FM synths back then - it's even listed in the manuals. The FB01, for example, can also do that. Nice job, though.

При использовании dx 11,я добавлял 30-40 единиц velocity,тогда тембры звучали более или менее.но с хорошей клавиатурой не сравнить.

Do you know how to split dx11?
@CngRAMBattery9 ай бұрын
There is no split option, you have use performance mode. You can assign one patch to the lower part of the keyboard., and another to the upper part. You also have to assign some of the 8 voices to each part.Say you have a bass on the lower side : you can just assign 2 voices, that would be enough. If for the upper part you want to use a a brass, then the remaining 6 voices will do. When you assign the [5] [6] “note limit low/high”, you can assign the same or different note range to the instruments : the manual at page 16 gives you all the instructions, but they look a bit sterile to me…and it’s not great at giving tips…page 24 has ideas but are just thrown there without examples : it was 1988 😁I meant to record a video about creating performances and split but never did…Hope this helps…

This isn't an issue I've encountered with my DX11. I suspect it's down to the quality of the USB/Midi cable you've used. CME make some very good midi cables, as do ESI. Of course Yamaha and Roland do as well but they are expensive. The CME and ESI ones aren't.

I have a question that I hope you can offer some guidance? I've had for a long time an A-500 Pro controller, like your A-800. I have no idea what drivers i need to install or, how to get the best out of it. I contacted Roland some years ago who were't helpful at all.
@CngRAMBattery Жыл бұрын
All the drivers are here: www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/a-800pro/updates_drivers/ , pick the one for your OS ! I use the keyboard just to play VSTs (well now as a midi interface 😂). Many VST have a function button called MIDI LEARN: so you move one of the sliders on the keyboard and at the same time you move with your mouse one of the slider on the VST ( say the resonance or frequency one) . You will see that after a few seconds the keyboard slider will be activating the slider on the screen : midi magic ! Then you pass to another slider or rotary switch ! Once you mapped the controls you need you can tweak your sound from your Roland ! The manual goes into more details about midi, but I am becoming more of a hardware synth guy these days😂🥲😂😂 Hope this helps!

Hi, very useful video for me, I have a DX 11. I have a question, where do I save the patches I upload? Do I have to select Single, preset A or B or C or D? Once finished, do they remain in the internal memory or do I find the original sounds when I turn them back on? Thanks for any information you can give me.
@CngRAMBattery Жыл бұрын
If you upload a full bank of 32 patches it will be sent to the internal memory bank I01 to I 32. They will stay there thanks to your RAM battery 😉. If you edit any of the said patches, you have to save any change before you switch to another patch or turn the DX off. You can save any patch only to the internal memory or to a cartridge: keep pressed down the STORE button and then press the buttons 1 to 32 to save it there ( generally I save it/ overwrite to the same number ). Patches in Banks A to D are stored in the ROM and cannot be overwritten or deleted ! If you edit one of them you can save the edited version to any of the slots of the internal memory I or to the external cartridge.

A friend on FB said to me : “Problem with midi to usb cable adapter is that some of their implementation is buggy in the sense that it doesn’t really take care of the revisions of the midi protocol; but when you connect thru another keyboard probably the implementation is better programmed in the “bridge” keyboard so it works fine. For example: I have tried the Maudio midisport uno with a Nord C1, worked just fine; but with a way older Roland Jv-90, just unusable. Solved with another cable by Esi, don’t remember the model”

Hiya, Great video. I have a DX11, and have installed an internal battery. I did a factory reset, but I don't know if that worked. But the problem I some sounds are coming from the keys and some are not, but in a pattern: 3 or 4 keys sounding then the next 3 or 4 not sounding. So I don't think it's a problem with the keys making contacts with the electrics but maybe somthing due to the lack of sound banks? any help will be most appreciated. What make and style is your usb to midi lead please, many thanks.

I have bought a MIDI to USB from eBay, works well to send Sysex to the DX11, but I have issues the other way around ( I can’t use the DX11 as a controller for VSTs…need to buy a better interface. About the keys you can try to factory reset again (Press and hold the [EDIT] button, then the [16] button, then the [32] button. Release the three buttons. Press the [YES] button. Turn the power OFF and then back ON).Optionally you can connect a midi controller to the midi in port of the DX11 and use the DX11 as a “synth module “ : if all the notes play, then is a key issue on the DX11 side ( hope it makes sense )! Good luck 🤞

@@itsmegrace1028 it might be worth looking at the performance mode or resetting the current performance mode. The other thing to do is to use another midi keyboard to play your synth and change the midi channel to see if it changes the patterns of notes playing - most likely will be a performance mode issue with the midi parameters .

@@CngRAMBattery Thanks! For some reason I don't get a "change battery" message, yet my DX11 won't save user patches 🤔 Whenever I make a user patch (i.e. making my own patch or initialising it to a sine), and save it to one of the 32 internal slots, it only remains saved for a few hours. I'm going to change the battery anyway to see if it fixes the problem. Perhaps the RAM battery is already be ineffectual even before the voltage is low enough to trigger the "change battery" message?
