Well done Chris - I watched the first part but missed this upload. Inspired to come on over from insta. Good to hear of the conditions - would have been good to be without the midges though. Still, this didn't dampen your spirits any. What with awesome vistas and some very nice people it made for a great challenge. Good going. Mark

Nice video, thanks! Did you experience any issues with the Salt Creek in heavy rain? Living in Sweden, I suppose we endure the same dreary rains as you Brits... I really like the looks of the tent, but I am feeling a bit tentative over the waterproofing.

Sorry for the delayed response, not been on KZbin much and all my notifications are off! I haven't had any issues with rain when I have taken it out. It's come through the vents a little bit but has withstood more rain than I thought it could.

Thanks Mark. Not a great summer, even by British standards is it? The first day wasn't really too bad weather wise, it was that second day. Apparently people who left later were getting hit by hailstones along the top of Fairfield, so the horizontal rain didn't seem so bad.

@@ramblebob1 Left Braintree in Essex and got driven up by a friend, arrived at St Bees at 4.30am and so after a fresh cup of coffee I started walking at 6am (mid summer so it was light enough to see) and stopped again at Nanny Catch Gill for 20 minutes to enjoy the peace and quiet. Arrived at Ennerdale Water approx 7-30/8.00am took a thirty minute bread to enjoy the view as I smoked my pipe then set off round the lake on the North Shore. Arrived at Black Sail approx 4PM and booked in for one night and met to Boss/Hostle Warden called Alex. Evening meal then bed at 10 pm. Up and breakfast at 7am then sat outside til the others finished their breakfast. Left Black Sail approx 8am to Borrowdale where I pitched up early to do some photography at 3pm. Self cooked evening meal then in bed by 10pm. Tony the Retired Hike

I recently bought a Salt Creek 2 myself and instantly fell in love with it. Mine doesn't have any orange fabric on the fly, though, which is fine because I'm not a big fan of bright colors on my tents, but I do with it had something else to break up all the grey. Some green or tan or something.

I like to get to my water bottle too Chris although I do end up taking my pack off usually and taking 5. I like the Sierra Designs. Currently, I'm using a Gregory pack-1,000 grams. I've enjoyed using it. Mind you the shoulder straps in saving weight can feel flimsy. All the best. Mark

I like the night cat Chris but I could do without the inner - if it were single skin and sown in I'd go for it. Hey, good you got a bargain from Trekkit - I know em down there. I'll be going passed tomorrow. Well, I started with a Wild Country Duolite Tent/shared between me and my twin brother Paul and a solo gelert, which I still have. More recently it's a Nordisk (Paul's) and a Lunar Solo. Well, have a great week ahead. Mark

Agree with the night cat, my friend lanshan 2 had no inner. It does get a little annoying as it sags overnight, but it does its job for long distance when I'm not in it for too long. Was impressed with Trekkit, they had a good rewards program too, so I ended up getting the footprint basically for free when it came back in stock. I saw they were based down your neck of the woods. The wild country tents look like good tents.ni heard a lot of good things about Nordisk as well.

Thanks Mark. The weight loss is obviously something I am happy about, but did take me a long time to readjust my sleeping position!
