Thanx for the video. This morning I checked on a few dies that I had repaired and noticed everyone running their parts covered in blue syrup! I use trim in our tool room and I've been familiar with it for several years. It was ordered for our production machines because the old lube was unavailable, with one problem. Nobody was taught to add water!!! Fortunately, I caught this on day one as I made my rounds. 😆💧 I ordered the same unit You've shown here, and I'll explain to the department's setup guys how to use it. 👍

The only drawback is the setup. most DIY machinists lack the knowledge for the wiring and setup. This I found to be more difficult than the others.

Hello I really enjoyed watching your video. I own a countertop and cabinet business and we have purchased a CNC machine for small projects. We recently started looking into running the machine at full potential. I am really interested in talking to you about getting our machine ready for a more vigorous production schedule. How can we reach out about hiring you for our project to get us going?

The precision and detail this machine delivers are outstanding, especially with its 30W power, which handles a wide range of materials effortlessly. The setup was straightforward, and the user-friendly interface made it easy to start engraving almost immediately. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, the MONPORT GP 30 offers reliable performance and versatility that’s hard to beat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their laser engraving work. I love this much!

Love this vid! Thanks for the rundown! So if all those parameters are dialled in under the max tolerances how accurate will the machine be? (Repeatability accuracy?) Cheap cncs are approx 0.02mm Decent quality is approx 0.01mm (10microns) And precision machines (kern, etc) are under 0.005mm The kerns with hydrostatic bearings and temperature control to prevent thermal expansion have 0.002 - 0.003mm repeatability (2 - 3 micron!!) That's fkn crazy!!! Lol I need to build one for making watch parts, I need at least 0.008 repeatability for watch parts that will be flawless. It'd be great to know where your cheat sheet would put us at? I suspect if you get on those numbers we'd be talking a very precise machine similar to the Haas quality if not better. I'd love to hear some opinions!!

Sir, I have another doubt..! Can We find or calculate the total travel distance of G-codes in mm/inch ?, I mean The total cumulative distance all 3 axis combined to finish a particular G-code...! I was thinking about how to charge for machining cost on a cnc router, based on axis intensity and distance...! simple 2.5D carving/grooving jobs and highly detailed relief carving jobs using all three axis are different very much , right? So combining all distances on all axis will give us the cumulative figure of distance 1.00hr running X and Y only for 2.5D Carving is different from 1.00hr running X and Y and Z for a relief carving So We have to consider all axis included in operation.! Is there any method for this type of calculation..! Is it complicated? or nonsense?!

in mach3 top under operator/ maintenance hours it will give you the distance traveled for each axis.

Why not fill in the Dovetail area with steel bar stock machines to fit in the bevelled area and bolt them in place in a few places then machine those to fit the Linear rails to them.

That would work well however you need a machine large enough to do the machining.

@@CNC4XR7 all you need is a machine large enough to machine the smaller bar stock to fit in the dovetails to make it all the same height. you might be able to use a grind stone in a hand router to surface the top flat with the other surfaces. a machinist finds way to repair and machine out side the box that how it always been done back before all these NC machine, i worked for Linamar machines in the 1980's and did things to get the parts right that wasn't in the normal machining handbook and i worked on military missile and guns parts with machines that where at that time old manual milling and lathes. we used them to make the prototype PLC machines to build the missile parts where each operation was started by the last operating ending point.

I have tried messaging Monport several times with zero response. If I understood correctly, standard m55 lenses will work on this machine with the adapter? Both in terms of focus, power, as well as 'it screws on'. I see no m39 lenses sold as accessories but also absolutely no mention on the site whatsoever that these GP machines can swap lenses. I just don't want to get stuck in too small of a work area as well as be detailed when I need it.
@CNC4XR7
@CNC4XR7 4 ай бұрын
The GP 30 Has a wide enough range that i doubt you will need to swap the lenses. I have been using both of mine for various projects and have yet to swap the lenses. Even though I did purchase a couple different lenses for my 20 watt laser I have yet to install them. I have marked as small as print 2.5 mm to large objects like the Slate coaster project this Christmas. with no issues. So unless your certain you need a different lens I would not be too concerned about it. I like both Units. Power feed on Focus is nice. having the cabinet below is also nice the noisy is not at the level your sitting. Just personal preference.

Fantastic video. One question, you sanded down the top of the spindle to allow the top bearing to slide over the spindle with less effort. I am replacing the bearings on my PM833 which has an almost identical design. What is confusing me is that the top bearing fits very tightly on the spindle. How loose did you make it. Does it still have some friction when you slide on the top bearing?
