Bit of a blow, to ‘lose’ you just as I’ve found you. This morning I ‘braved’ how to make a traditional tin loaf - your video popped up and the loaf is in the oven as I type. It’s looking good! Thankyou for your help. If this gig is bringing you down, you’re right to walk away. Take care, don’t let the b***@*DS grind you down. Once again, thanks.

Your story is wrong! It was a gypsy woman who found some hungry children. The Gypsy made gypsy tart that fed the children. Good recipe though.

We just bought one of these and with the frozen pizza the trick is to heat it up to 5 then once it's there. Put the pizza in and turn it down to 3-4 and just slowly turn it down as it cooks 4-5 min. But we made normal pizza as well. Beyond amazing same thing though, preheat to 5 then turn down to 4 when putting the fresh pizza in.

Do NOT buy this because I am on my second one and the heating element just does not work.

Hi, gun toting free American deigning to speak to you vassals of the state regarding how a Free People prepare food correctly. It's hard for me to see why someone would wait an entire year to use a smoker that you have o hand. Brisket I'd go with a heartier hard wood for smoking like a mesquite. Cooking times: Lean like fish go fast and a light wood like apple or pecan. This looks like the first iteration of the Weston smoker and slow cooker. I like that I can catch the juices at the bottom with this smoker. Make a gravy with those smokey juices and reserve that for your BBQ sauce. The big advantage of smoking meats is that they are usually the cheapest cuts with lots of connective tissue and fat. I believe it is completely foolish to cut off the extra fat and cut out bones. The slower in time and lower in temp you can melt away the connective tissue and marrow to completely melt out and tenderizes the meats that are usually way too chewy hence they are a cheap cut. I have this slow cooker and electric smoker. I do not think the programing is very easy to use and you have to be careful in how you program it because it only has 3 functioning buttons and I think tends to offset the earlier programing. I love this little smoker but I use it outside on the patio instead of in the house because it will be a problem anywhere. I do not like use it for a slow cooker due to those programming issues especially for the newest iteration that proudly has a temp probe. A good smoke should take 2-12 hours. Cold smoke a block of cheese. I fast smoke a Salmon. I combo smoke a big piece of meat like a Pork Shoulder or big Brisket.

I absolutely hate using caster sugar. I will only use it to sprinkle on shortbread or in cinnamon sugar so I substitute with granulated sugar.

I loved this! The taste was delicious. It will be a regular staple in our house! The only thing I would say is that I didn't notice if the temp was for fan oven, however, I just put it in at 200oc without thinking about it and put a timer on for 30 minutes without checking and i burnt it. So just a warning for others, that this 200oc is for conventional oven, not fan. I'm making it again today and will set it to 180oc. Although it was burnt, it wasn't super bad and took the bits off that were worse, but you could still taste that it was delicious! Thanks :) Shame you are not making more videos, it was nicely presented! Thanks

One question I have would be the temp. which is emitted for cold smoke actually. When cold smoking like bacon, salmon or whatever you'd need about 18-20°C. If it goes over that it wouldnt have any use to me specifically. But for what you have done it seems pretty decent ^^

I've got to tell you Matt, and this is strictly as a viewer who watches people eat food on my downtime, I'm so surprised your channel hasn't blown up. I haven't watched this quitting video so if it's something else, that's your business, but you've always come up with a new angle every time. It's difficult to impress your 8-year-old daughter but the guy on the TV just made a giant Jaffa cake and both her parents were like, "We know that guy! That's Matt".
@BigFoodieGeek4 ай бұрын
That's very kind of you, mate. Honestly, it was never the lack of ideas or angles. I had plenty of those. But I've been running out of the time, money and, honestly, energy to pull them off. Videos were becoming a chore rather than a joy, and I haven't been looking after myself properly. So I ended the channel to regain my time, money and joy of food for it's own sake. I had a lot of fun with the channel, but it's definitely time to let it go. But who knows, maybe there'll be one more giant food in the future. 🙂

This is what i did to get the perfect pizza ; warm the oven for 10 min on the highest stand, see that your pizza is unfrozen (if you dont have time warm the frozen pizza up in a oven) bake the unfrozen pizza on the stand between 3 and 4 for around 7-8 min...you get a perfect crusty baked pizza

This is probably my last time logging in to this account, but I didn't want to do so without saying thank you for the lovely kind words and support, Candice. I'm sorry things are tough money-wise for you with disability. Even though I'm sad about ending the channel, it has been the right move for me as I'm finding myself with more time and money to take care of myself, and that was the whole point, really. Who knows what the future brings, but for now I'm content with what I did with the channel and that it's the right time to move on. 🙂
