I'm having massive problems, just trying to get this machine to work. Everything showed me that it would be a good machine to use. I totally disagree. What am I doing wrong?This is the second machine.I'm getting ready to send back

I bought a brand new gravermax G8 that was disjunctional right from the start when I hooked up my second handpiece it didn't work so I ordered a new handpiece now I'm broke and I have to send the disjunctional machine back to Kansas 😢

Hi. I can get the QCX. Is there any drawbacks for choosing this one over the QC? I do not have a microscope. Is there. ny other advantages for the QCX besides working with a microscope?

The primary advantage of the QCX is that the work always stays centered no matter how you rotate or move the BenchMate. That is why the QCX is recommended for use with a microscope. The QC allows for more clearance and access to the work you are holding due to the connecting arm having a lower angle. Both offer a wide range of motion, adjustability, and the "drop and lock" QC fixtures.

I have zero knowledge about this subject yet, but would this allow me to engrave for example finishing tools for bookbinding? If yes, do you need to hook it up to a compressor? Thank you.

Our systems do require oil-free compressed air. As to your first question: in theory, yes you could use our air systems to make finishing tools for bookbinding - but we have never heard of our tools being used for this specific application. Our customers made stamp tools for wax seals, print plates for intaglio printing, and other relief work in metal.

Have you checked the internal hoses of the GraverSmith? If they fill with oil from the compressor, that can affect the performance of your machine.

Really helpful video. You mentioned getting an inline filter to trap water. I would like to do this even though it’s probably not necessary just to be extra safe. There are two inline filters listed for sale on the GRS site, the Coalescing Air Filter & Oil-Remover Kit. One is metric and the other one is imperial. I’m assuming that the imperial kit is the one you want for the California Air Compressor because it’s all a 1/4” hose, right?

You are correct - the imperial coalescing filter (#004-730) has 1/4" fittings. The EU version has 6mm fittings.
