Interesting to note he uses the guitar support on his right leg. Great sound and articulation and control. Relaxed and comfortable and playing with ease. Nice piece. Great playing 👍

I love telling the story......Turn the wayback machine to 1969 (give or take). I was an undergrad student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I was a very good classical guitarist and was seriously considering that as a career. My amateur-musician Professor father was always gently trying to dissuade me. Anyway some well respected guitarists I studied with new and recommended I go see this young fellow Fred Hand who was going to be playing at the Student Union. My father went with me. There couldn't have been 10 people there. What I saw and heard blew me away. Fred played a monstrously difficult program perfectly. Not a miss, not a buzzed note...perfect. I had met and seen them all: Segovia, Bream, Parkening. Fred was the BEST I had ever seen. Better than all of them. I knew I could never be that good. Rheumatoid arthritis took its toll on my hands and I cannot even play any more but, boy, I remember that performance. Good thing I had something to fall back on. Peter Morrison, M.D.

I was a student of Fred's in the early to mid 70's. Ran into him walking Cooper Lake in Woodstock last May while walking my dog! The best of his generation, for sure.

I just got back to classical playing...it was a though journey...giving up on it due to shortcomings from the past and now...seeing Mr Hand inspires me to grow more and at last take the step to the long lost journey...it doesn't matter if I start from scratch again but ...the love for classical guitar has been revive

I love the way you have applied all your classical knowledge and incorporated it into these contemporary compositions. Only a true master could know how to make the most of the sonority and the timbre of the guitar. A beautiful creation indeed. Thanks for sharing.
