Why use the slate tiles? I've see other videos where the stepping stone was also used as the cooking base so just wondering why the slate tile?

Hi..trying to replicate. It appears you used 6 stepping stones , not 4. Am i off? Also what about using thicker stone instead of slate tile. Thanks for posting the vid. One of the best so far

Yes, it was 6 stones used. As for the slate, its thickness and heat dispersion works quite well. That said, if you experiment with other options, let us know how it goes. Have fun!

Ok so follow up..where did you get the slate..got slate from lowes and these things opened up like a deck of cards in a regular oven at 500..lol. enjoyed building the thing but still figuring out what use as they base for the pizza..steel, fire bricks etc.

@@danielvieyra4373 Yeah, that is the one thing everyone glosses over. Lowes/Home Depot have blue stone or porcelain easy enough, but that's not what all these videos use. They don't carry basalt either (like some recommend). I think perhaps just getting a pizza stone off of Amazon - or 2 of them - will be simpler as they are able to go to 1000 degrees or more and get delivered to your door.

Beautiful truck, much nicer than the new pretend Gladiator. The engine from 1947-1950 was the go devil. During 1950 the super Hurricane 6 cyl became an option.

Thank you! The slate cracked slightly near the back, but there was already a stress fracture in that spot. We've used it several times since shooting the video.

The flat noise came with the go-devil 4 or lightning 6, the v-noise came with hurricane 4 or 225 tornado 6

I would love to talk to the owner. Love the build. I want to stretch my cab too but never thought of doing it this way and others that just stretch behindvthe door to me do not look good but this here is the real deal. Nicely executed and mine is going on a wagoneer chassis as well but getting a Hemi/NV5600 drivetrain. My last one I used a jeep 4.0/AX15 but wanted somthing different. Great job guys...one of the better builds to date.
