I was 17 when it was released. This is DP Mk2, the best lineup imho - guitar legend Ritchie Blackmore on lead with Roger Glover on bass guitar. One of the best drummers in Ian Paice and the late great Jon Lord on his cut-down and heavily modified Hammond C3 organ fed thru Marshal amps. Ian Gillan on vocals, amazing voice. He actually hits a5! He also sang the role of Jesus in the 1969 recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Welcome to the Deep Purple rabbit hole! You should try the BBC live version of Child in Time. Five very talented musicians in total sync, playing as one. Raw live as there were no autotunes, synths or computers in 1970. Superb.

Toda la música de Deep Purple es extraordinaria para mí!!!! Tal vez, banda sonora para alguna serie de guerra y caos. Simplemente, adoro a Deep Purple!! 💜💜💜💜💜

There's been a few songs which I took decades to correctly identify but I'm not going to name them (they're all "embarrassing"). Top 10 hit in the UK in 1997 is hardly "moderate success" - remember this was still the time when people bought real, not imaginary, media products.

I know this song got a lot of airplay for a year or two after it came out on U.S. college stations. I used to hear it on some South Florida college radio station back in the mid 90s.

I know what you mean about the embarrassing songs thing. I have an Amazon Playlist of songs like that called "guilty pleasures" where I put all my embarrassing songs. Funny thing is, most everyone will always say they like those songs when it's actually playing. lol
