Do you find that this works even with super wash wool? The ends don’t slide out at all later?
@YumiYarns
@YumiYarns 4 күн бұрын
I use this for all kinds of yarn & have never had a problem with it coming undone. If you're using a slippery yarn maybe give yourself a bit longer section of "weaving" it in than you would for a more grippy wool. I use a tail of about 5" (12.5 cm) for superwash, but end up only weaving in about 3" (7.5 cm) as i knit. This is probably more than needed, but i get into a rhythm & stop paying attention. 😅

I have to switch from continental style back to English in order to knit with unspun lol
@YumiYarns
@YumiYarns Ай бұрын
I thought i was going to have to do that at first but was able to loosen up my tension enough that i was able to stay knitting continental. I don't mind knitting english style, but my tension gets crazy tight at times so that seemed extra unhelpful. 😂

I like this bind off , will have to try it . the one I just learned is knit first stitch, yard over for knit stitches backwards yarn over or opposite from a normal yarn over . Then knit the next knit . Yes this is for knit two purl two ribbing. Haven’t tried to see if it works for a knit one by one ribbing yet . Then you will have three stitches on the right needle. Then take the yarn over and bring it over the first stitch then the last stitch on the needle. Then you have one stitch on the right needle and for the purl stitch do a normal yarn over then purl your next stitch and then pull the yarn over the first stitch the last stitch. And repeat this for knits and purls . It really gives a great stretch and looks like a roll over to me .

Hi! I appreciate your feedback, but I leave the mistakes in to show viewers that 1.) everyone makes mistakes. 2.) it's not a big deal to make mistakes. 3.) how to easily fix mistakes when/if you make them. I hope this helps clarify my teaching method. Happy knitting! 💕

OP: *starts purling* Me: oh man you’re still doing traditional purls? I just learned this nifty purl that goes SO QUICKLY, I don’t actually dread purling continental anymore!! Op: *starts doing Norwegian Purl* Me: YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAH
@YumiYarns
@YumiYarns 2 ай бұрын
I actually do switch between my standard purls and Norwegian purls from time yo time to prevent muscle & joint fatigue. I'm most comfortable with demoing using my standard purls, though so that's what I use when I'm filming. The Norwegian purls are a nice change, though. 😉

I once knitted a long length cardigan for my toddler. It was lace work on the main body and smocked on the bodice area. It took ages to knot but it was so beautiful in a deep salmon pink... probably still my favourite item ive ever knit. I have a grandson now and ive only knit him basic items 🤭 naughty me!

I'm knitting my first pair of socks and your videos have been so helpful! After purling the last gsr and begin the first round of the leg (picking up the primary color again) should you slip that first stitch like when working in rows or just knit it right away?
