So they encounter it, a lot of them finding pleasure in it (some of it), and they will have to learn to tackle this strange world of sexual entertainment. Nowadays, there are quite a lot of info (both scaremongering and more balanced criticism and info) on the net, so they need not to be lacking basic understanding on this (although preteens might have less understanding of it).
