This and Choppers backstory devastated me. I went into one piece 2 years ago thinking it was a just a silly kids anime (you can thank 4Kids for that when I was a child) Boy.. I was not prepared. Brooks backstory is my favorite but Choppers hit me the hardest (because I wasn't expecting it, I guess)

The thing I love with Nami’s “Fata Morgana” is that it’s a real thing, it’s an optical illusion that happens rarely right above the horizon that commonly makes boats and oil rigs appear like they float.

Bro how are you this confused about the movie? 😂 I guess because this movie was taken place in 1970 lol Things were different back then. They had guns but it was more hand to hand combat. More of a respect thing. And yeah they were 17-19 years old so they were young

It is indeed Illegal to hire illegal immigrants so you have to take that into account. What they did was reprehensible but also the immigrants should come legally and pay taxes. That is usually the problem people have with immigrants, not paying taxes.

I cried for 2 hours after seeing this film when I was 16. Images from the film were like intrusive thoughts and I couldn’t stop thinking about not only the children but everyone affected by our devastating decision. This was only an animated film (which I know is based on the authors life (not Miyazaki), but if it’s this devastating in an animated film, irl I can’t even imagine. It was soul crushing watching this film. I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe and my chest hurt. I haven’t watched this film again since. It’s not just that the film is extremely sad, but it depicts a sliver of how horrific war is in a very blunt, unsensationalzed way. Tbh, I didn’t even watch most of this reaction because I can’t bring myself to watch this film again. I believe everyone should see it at least once and I wish they’d consider showing this in a high school world history class. It’s worth teaching. I’ve always said, if I ever go to Japan, I will visit the memorial and pay my respects as an American, for the devastation we caused. I won’t argue whether it was the right decision or not, at the end of the day, people died and others suffered. I understand that we were once on opposite sides but we have moved past that. Lastly, and maybe this seems lame (hopefully not), but I heard recently that Japan gifted our country Sakura Trees to replace those that got unfortunately damaged during a recent construction project. I wish to say thank you to Japan for the beautiful gift. I truly love them. It’s been my dream since I was in high school to get married among the cherry blossoms in spring as I see them as a symbol for a new beginning ☺️ I think this sentiment is also true of our nations relationship. In my state, we have something called the Peace Garden, which symbolizes our commitment to peace with Canada. I see the gift of Cherry Blossoms the same way. We were once on opposite sides but chose to start anew moving forward together and becoming stronger together. I’m always happy when they bloom, no matter how brief. Even if the blossoms go away, the tree still remains strong and sturdy, just as I hope our nation’s relationship does. 🫶🏽🌸💜

Zoro has one of the least tragic backstories imo. Ussop went through his mother dying and his father leaving. Zoros parents probably didn’t die.

I’m new to your channel, am now subscribed, and am grateful to be a part of the community. I started watching the anime first but was often spoiled so I decided to read the entirety of the manga and am now caught up with it as well as the anime. My adult sons are also manga readers and anime watchers. The three of us keep in touch when new chapters come out and new episodes drop. When my husband realized how invested my sons and I are in One Piece and how it connected us, he wanted to give it a try. I decided to rewatch it with him and am so happy to be a part of his journey through the One Piece world. He loves it! I decided to check out your channel tonight as soon as my husband finished watching episode 541. Your reaction to Koala’s interaction with the Sun Pirates, on my first and second watch, was similar to my own. Koala’s, Fisher Tiger’s, and the rest of the Sun Pirates reaction to her trauma hit me on a visceral level and I had to walk away for a second time. Fisher Tiger is a stand out character and one I will remember till the series’ end. Many blessings to you and your loved ones. ❤️🏴‍☠️
