I learned so much about lion fish in the last few days. Prolific breeders. They only take about 2 years to mature. Can get up to 15”-16”. Their natural predators are not the same species we have here, so sharks, eels etc don’t have them on their menu yet.

According to Wikipedia eels, sharks, some fish, and other fish that are related to their species. However, the species that would be their natural predators are not the same as we have here.

When you are catching the Lion fish, can you tell if they are male or female? If you could catch more female lion fish you could really make a huge dent in their population.
