Since it's a decorative piece a bottom is not needed but if you plan on using it outdoors definitely add a bottom.

@@alongthewhimsyway I’m currently building some storage shelves in my garage. We just recently moved and I’m going from a 14x40 workshop down to a 8x16 workshop. So I’m trying to maximize the storage space in my garage to allow for the maximum work space in the new workshop.

Nice! I like that you staged it with a round chunk of wood for it to sit on. I've got access to a big ol' pile of smallish logs and some old cutoffs, maybe 8' to 12', edge pieces. Been looking for inspiration for both types of wood. They're weathered due to being outside for a few years. Nice job on your videos. I'm your newest subscriber.

@@JB-eo3zc I don't think that it is. It is a bit harder to cut so I use multiple passes on the table saw. Just don't treat it like pine. TY for the comment.

Thanks, in this project I used 3/4 'pin' nails. I normally use staples but because the slats were thin I used pin nails. I forgot to use glue in this project.
