This is so Dumb. 🙄 I do flooring as well. I don’t need the GC for help. If I need to move something. It Gets Moved. They makedolly’s for heavy furniture, they make an Air Lifter for fridges to avoid scratching the freshly sanded floor after a sand and finish. I can move a giant ass fridge by myself. I guess if your really Slow, or work isn’t abundant, you would make a dumb video like this to make some extra small time cash. You might have gotten the general public to care, but other actual professionals are laughing at you. I can’t wait to read Dumb comments from a bunch of people who DO NOT work for themselves to chime in.. this should be fun!!

So useful. Thinking of some thinner material, like a tough poly board from Grainger, to leave permanently under my washer & dryer (the countertop leaves almost no clearance to the top of the appliances). Thank you for this great video.

Did you glue all the wood or just the first few rows and the last row?

Did you have to do anything to hold the underlayment down? Like did you staple down the underlayment?

Hi! I'm gonna install this floor. Has anybody installed it & if so can you tell me how is your floor holding up.

I installed this (Pergo) in my house 24 years ago. Kitchen, dining room and hallway. I have had several dogs. It held up fantastic except for 2 years ago. I had a drain line fail on my dishwasher. The pergo did not go under the dishwasher so when the dishwasher leaked (pumped out under the dishwasher) all the water went under the pergo and the underlayment and pergo buckled. We are in the process of doing tile right now which is always what I wanted anyway. Hoping I can salvage much of the pergo for an upstairs hallway and small office.

Nice, nice, very nice. However, you can make it better. Just google Woodprix and learn how to do it easily.

How thick should the melamine boards be, only thing I see at lowes is 3/4" which is very thick? It looks like its only a 1/4" thick. Is that melamine or lauan plywood in the video?

In the last back splash shot it looks as if it's already coming up or didn't stick well to begin with and now they have no place to sit down and eat. They gave up being able to sit as a family for storage and prep space. They have a small home. You needed to kick it out at least 5 more feet where the door to the kitchen is,so they could sit and eat. Dishwashers should always go next to the sink NOT a stove.

Is this regular hardwood floor or engineered? I keep reading that one should not float hard wood like you would engineered because it might shift but you floated this one. What do you think?
@PamelasEngel

I can see from the cross cut that it’s an engineered hardwood floor. I don’t know why he didn’t mention it clearly.

I ran short of laminate flooring and when I went to purchase remainder needed find it has apparently been discontinued. Is there any way of gluing cut ends together with another color in order to put a border around room? Tearing out and replacing completely would be very expensive and don't want to do that. Help.

Why don't you use blanket ? much easier !
@vchildband
@vchildband 4 жыл бұрын
Blanket will prevent scratches, but it won't prevent the wheels from a heavy refrigerator from compressing the wood and forming permanent grooves in the wood.

And no one seems to care that the dishwasher placement destroys the kitchen's functionality. I might agree that the stove looks great where it is but it would've looked wonderful on the other wall too. Function should be first.

Can I install a floating floor before installing kitchen cabinets? Then, cut the flooring at the cabinet line, remove the cut flooring, and finally lay the cabinets on the sub-floor?
