Avoid Domestika at all cost, google it how many people got scammed

Skillshare has been a complete waste of time, in my opinion. Classes are filled with fluff and a 5 minute *free* KZbin video will get you the same information without wasting the time or money.
@MerchMetrics11 күн бұрын
I think the major issue is that skillshare doesn't create or even really curate the content. So there are great courses and terrible courses and you have no idea which you're going to get.

Just signed up and set my rate at $20 per hour. I make this rate with some of my Chinese students who I teach directly. And it will discourage students who just want a cheap trial lesson and never come back. And if I never get a class through them I'm okay with it.

The Domestika courses do look really good quality, but the reviews of Domestika itself (1.3 on Trust Pilot from 3,438 ratings and rated as 'Bad'), are absolutely appalling. People mainly complaining of Domestika's sneaky and scamming pricing and charging practices, with so many people feeling fraudulently tricked into buying annual subscriptions that Domestika then stubbornly refuse to refund. From what I understand, you pay an annual subscription on top of the cost of each course. No reflection on the artists and tutors themselves, other than their association with this company.

Careful on domestika especially when buying their deceptive cheap courses. They are sneaky and unethical and you might end up 100 dollar plus hole in your Acct. Speaking from experience. Also no refund.

Domestika is a scam. If you subscribe to a "free" trial, buy a course, you will be silently subscribed to an annual plan. No cancellation, no refund, no response from support. Fraudsters!

Stop promoting domestika. They are scamming people. Do not buy from Domestika. They will sneak an annual subscription in your cart even though you just bought a course and later debit you 110 dollars, with no refund without you knowing. You can’t delete your card details that was saved without your permission, you can’t unsubscribe because you never subscribed. Until after forced subscription. Check their page with a lot of people complaining about it.

Preply used to be a good company to work for. Now they are not even paying their teachers! I've been trying to get in touch with Preply support, and they are not allowing tutors to withdraw their earnings.

Please do not use Domestika. I purchased a single course on Domestika, and without my consent, they automatically included a Domestika Plus subscription. I was charged again later without any notification. To make matters worse, I can't even use the service in my country because the website doesn't work here. I feel completely scammed. Avoid this platform at all costs!

Domestika is aSCAM No customer service, only automatic replies. Also been charged out of nowhere for a subscription I didn't want. No refund. The free trial is bad, I didn't get anything out of it, so I certainly didn't want to subscribe further. I guess it's my mistake for being human and expecting humanity from companies.

I had a good experience on Domestika though. The course was really really detailed and enoyable! But, I didn't have any reason to contact their support. I also had a real language barrier and had to rely on subtitles.

Well I had a similar experiance, I bought a course package but instead of the discounted price I got charged all courses price. But I contacted to apple since I used apple payment, and I got a refund. However when I was examining the site I realized there was 2 prices for some courses and from my understanding you pay the cheper price by accepting a premium subscription, maybe it is about that, or maybe they have a weak system for payment ways or something. But I don't think it is a scam because it wouldn't stand that much time and they still providing the courses. I don't know about the customer services though. Sorry for you didn't get a refund :/

Don’t use Domestika, I use to purchase their courses until they charge me for a course subscription that I did not even purchased. I had to call my credit card for fraudulent use. Domestika would keep your credit card information where they can charge you whatever they force you to buy.

Well that one deision about that "graphic novel" was from an earlier era, and we don't really have any other precedents yet. At this point, almost no AI image is used that was not worked by a human. We almost always do in-painting and as you mention, text. It is human-created at this point, using the ai as a tool. It's not the same as it was in the beginning. I have one AI project about monsters and one about a girl rock band. I use face swap and consistent characters, and I onsider it all copyrighted material because I am writing it, I am generating images, face-swapping, animating the images, doing lip sync with the images to my scripts, having them sing AI songs that I wrote the lyrics to. How can anyone argue that this is not work I created? That's like saying it can't be copyrighted if you used Photoshop, it's absurd.

What BSR generally is a good sign that a shirt is selling every day?

So that changes over time but having a bsr means that at least 1 sale has occurred and usually in the 100k range is selling every day or so.

Domestika is perpetrating scams by adding Plus subscription to orders. Tonight $95 was taken from my bank account without any prior notice. I never desired Plus as I had already bought most items within the categories I am interested in learning about. This is a DECEITFUL tactic. I wish I had seen TrustPilot reviews warning of this. Any reputable company would refund. I am calling my bank to see what can be done. I will be posting this notice on every KZbin video that I run across that is advertising Domestika until this is fully and satisfactorily resolved.

Please tell me if any product is having BSR of 1,325,749. How come that product is coming on first page of search?
@MerchMetrics Жыл бұрын
Amazon doesn't list products based on BSR alone, it also uses an algorithm which is specific to each buyer that is based on past purchases and things the algorithm thinks are likely to sell to you personally. In addition, some products are tested in search even when they are not the best products to list because if they didn't no new products would ever have a chance to be seen in search at all.

Nine dollars an hour! How can they provide good quality teachers to their clients at that rate? As a credentialed teacher who just signed up for Preply I'm shocked. I put my minimum hourly on the site as sixty-five per hour and that is cheap for someone with an advanced degree. I suppose I won't be getting clients at that rate. Wish I would have watched your video before I took the hour and a half it took to sign up. Thanks for this video!

I've learnt a new English expression today: "to want to have your cake and eat it" . I understand and feel you, I also find it hard to balance private life and that kind of online job but for me it's ok because I don't have much friends, I'm not married and don't have any kid. or the moment I'm tutoring French there for 8 dollars one hour although I speak fluently Chinese, English and Spanish but I've never had a decent job in France. I'm thinking about getting a IELTS 8+ and start teaching English as well so if anyone have tips for that thanks a lot. PS: good luck and thank you for sharing your experience in that video.
@MerchMetrics Жыл бұрын
Hey no problem, the way I learned that saying was “to have your cake and eat it too” meaning that you want the thing but not just to achieve it but to get whatever value from it as well. It’s usually not considered a good thing. Odd saying to be sure.
