This broke my heart to watch again. WW1 Christmas and those brave men had a moment of truce in the middle of the depth of Hell they were sent to to protect those of use who couldn't do it ourselves, to The Honored Dead, "May your glass always be filled with friendship when the hour grows late" to pause the violence we do to each other at humanity's darkest hour and yet my wife and I sit here with cancers awaiting our passing, and all I can think about is if those brave men could acknowledge a moment of peace with each other before they all begin to die and fade into history again, yet I can't say goodbye to my family because everyone is individually so consumed by their own personal perceived loss we can't reach across the country and say were sorry for all we've done and ask forgiveness from those we've injured by our actions before it's too late to hear them. It's so sad we may never get the chance...

Like many, I am certain, several ancestors were in that war - one even lying about his age, & was possibly only 14 or 15. I'm not a pacifist, but it was an utterly pointless war.

How the film industry glamorises real life - they are all far too clean and the cat looks as though s/he has just come out of a comfy pet carrier just off camera - which, of course, s/he has....
