Excellent quality. I wish all uploaders of archive material, classic TV... etc., were as mindful of the need for quality in this, the third decade of the 21st century.

A somewhat romantic view of Southampton, in the year I was born, what with the Blitz damage deftly avoided by the production team. No Above Bar. No High Street. That said, it must have raised a tear in many an eye around the old town when it was first shown in the local cinemas. I've just shed a couple. A big thank you for showing it.

This is fascinating for me because I travelled on the Calshot under her 'Galway Bay' banner several times as a boy in the early 1980s. At that stage, she ferried passengers between Galway and the Aran Islands in Ireland. Powered by Diesel engines then, the 30-mile journey took almost three hours. Looking at your posted footage, I think she might have travelled much faster under steam power! Thanks for posting.

Lovely film evocative of a time long gone. The magnificent Ocean Terminal did not last very long.
