ok so, major spoilers for all danganronpa games, this is everything that i noticed aside from the obvious (in order) - the flash of characters at the very start is all of the protagonists and supports (without spoilers) - for dr1, the protagonist, support and antagonist show up first, sayaka shows up because up until her death, it was thought that she’d be the support - the target switches from mondo to daiya, because mondo was meant to die, but daiya pushed him out of the way and died instead - “dead or lie! dead or alive?” lyrics for aoi and sakura; sakura died, aoi lied in the trial, but was a survivor in the end - green silhouette of chihiro is a reference to alter ego - fire transition for celeste, her execution (and the card symbols in the back represent her gambling) - toko’s transition is self-explanatory - “you might call me a liar” lyrics for leon, hiro and taka- leon, first culprit, lying to hide the fact that he’s guilty- hiro, clairvoyant, but like 70% wrong so he lies a lot, and taka i dunno - the target behind taka’s head can show how he died from a blow to the head - “who and what should i protect? why must i do this?” lyrics for junko (mukuro), showing how she didn’t know why she was doing everything for her younger sister - “i’ll tear it all away with one bullet!” lyrics for hajime, truth bullets shooting statements and showing the holes in them - again, protagonist, support and antagonist show up first - galaga omega in the background for chiaki, her favourite game and also one of the games shown in her execution - the target behind chiaki’s sprite, this is a bit of a stretch, but it can show how she needed to die from the start because she was the traitor, and was getting targeted by the mastermind/monokuma - the symbol gundham drew in his execution is similar to the one that shows up behind him - behind mahiru, a camera lens - behind hiyoko, cherry blossoms; a part of japanese culture, just like her kimono, traditional japanese clothing, as she’s the ultimate *traditional* dancer - the heartbeat monitor symbol thing behind mikan, medical equipment = nurse - there’s faint black lines in front of monomi, as if she’s on camera footage (future foundation being forced to watch the killing game) - monokuma glitching, virtual world stuff (neo world program) - the transition from makoto to komaru, because they’re siblings - you can faintly see (udg’s) genocide jack behind komaru, and monaca’s next, again with the “protagonist, support, antagonist” pattern (the monaca *towa* thing isn’t valid to be on this list since it was a mistake on the creator’s part) - “i’m starting to feel that i’ve really won this argument” this can reference a lot of things, but the main one i think is near the end of udg, where breaking the controller will kill every child, but keeping it intact will cause them to continue causing havoc, so it’s a lose-lose situation on komaru’s part and win-win for monaca - “dead or lie! dead or alive?” lyrics again, we don’t know that the warriors of hope actually survived until the end, so we don’t know if they’re *dead* or if that was a *lie* - kaede’s transition is self-explanatory - “i wonder if, in the end, you’ll just call me cold-hearted?” lyrics, in the end, after her plan to kill the mastermind, if she’ll just be labelled as a cold-hearted killer for “killing” rantaro - the helmet/brainwashing scene with kaede, most likely an implication on how their personalities were completely altered - the magnifying glass transition, like how shuichi had to look closely in kaede’s statements and actions to find out that she was the (presumed) culprit - “yes, it’s my justice!” lyrics, it’s his justice/destiny to find the culprit since he’s a detective, and it was his destiny to become a detective in general too - “but even so, i’ve got to stand my ground in his game!” lyrics, a belief that he’d probably earn from his inner voice, and also how no matter how much bullying keebo endured, he’d never break and kill someone, just stood his ground for his beliefs and wishes - “i still want to do what it takes to win!” lyrics, how kokichi always said that he’d be the one to win the killing game - again with the protagonist, support, antagonist shows up first thing; kaede (protag) shuichi (kaede’s support, now a protag) keebo (solo protag for the audience) kokichi (antag) kaito (shuichi’s support) - how it looks like maki and rantaro are looking at themselves, as if facing who they really are (maki’s true identity as an assassin, rantaro’s actual ultimate being the ultimate survivor + adventurer) - the symbol for himiko’s transition looking similar to gundham’s, a form of magic - not sure about kiyo, but the spiderweb for kirumi; her execution was called “strand of agony,” with a spiderweb and spider in the frame where it showed the name - butterfly in the bg for gonta, self-explanatory - prison bars for ryoma, since he was in prison before - female symbol for miu and tenko; tenko is “female supremacy” and miu always implies that she’s a girl (“i’m the gorgeous *girl* genius”) - the revolver rounds showing the protagonists, supports, and antagonists
