I’m always looking for young adult books for my younger teen sister. It’s really hard to find books with *zero* spice, do you have any recommendations?
@MadisonStrong7 күн бұрын
Let me think about it! I know I have some. It’s not fantasy but the Christy Miller series is awesome! I read it as a teen. It’s a Christian series so there’s no spice, it does reference to Christy saving herself for marriage though I believe. It’s been awhile since I read them as I was in my teens the last time I read them 😭

i really admire all you do for Ducky!! i first became chronically ill a week after i got my puppy, and it was completely unexpected and very severe…so unfortunately he was not able to get the training or socializing i wanted him to :( but im healing now, so im hoping it’s not too late!
@MadisonStrong11 күн бұрын
I know how hard that can be. When I got Eloise, I got so sick right after I was practically bedridden for months so she got no socialization and now she has severe anxiety (she’s a chihuahua/Italian greyhound mix so she’s prone to it). when you feel up to it, my advice would be to start slow & confidence build. If he’s an anxious dog, don’t just jump right into bring him to pet friendly areas. When I was teaching Duckie to focus on me (he wasn’t but prone to getting distracted) I literally started working with him in my backyard and then moved to the front yard and then we went to less busy stores and worked our way up from there! Really listening to your dog and confidence building will help you go a long way!! 🩷

Great video! I am not a book reader at all but that book package was so enticing and very personal. Love that they give you such beautiful stationary and the design is beautiful. Duckie is going so well. Also wanted to share with you a shampoo and conditioner I have been loving and incredibly amazed with! It’s called extended length shampoo, and I like the conditioning mask for strengthening. It’s amazing.!! It smells so good and clean and fresh. It doesn’t cause me a headache and it’s so good on my hair. My hair is shedding much less getting thicker stronger healthier, and it grew really long really fast like 2 inches and six weeks.! I know you love your hair and want it to be strong and healthy as it can be with dealing with medicines and the effects of our conditions on the air so I thought you might want to try it out. I think you also use purology I can’t remember that’s a great one because it’s so clean and pure but this one is amazing. Purology has something called strength cure which is really good and works like this one, but it doesn’t really seem to grow it any faster I’m amazed with this Redken product and it also has biotin in it.
@MadisonStrong15 күн бұрын
It was so gorgeous!! I couldn’t believe it when I opened it!! And I will have to check out that shampoo!! I always really enjoy trying out new shampoos. I think I’ve used the Purology one before but when my hair isn’t freshly colored it has a tendency to get greasy faster with that shampoo unfortunately!!
@AprilLeighchronicallyme15 күн бұрын
@ yes it’s heavy but the Redken was cleans do well and freshens the scalp.
@ruby320014 күн бұрын
@@AprilLeighchronicallyme I highly recommend Viori shampoo and conditioner. It’s all natural and is rice shampoo and conditioner. When I got sick my hair became super weird and greasy. Viori works for all hair types. You can get unscented or scented, and they even make dry shampoo. I also use an apple cider vinegar shampoo to cleanse the scalp.

Oh my God I love the discovery of witches series, I love the books not so much the show I know one talked about the books anymore so I’m glad you mention them. That’s the sword bookmark is so cute. Ducky is getting so big. That’s a great point about the buses, I feel like there’s a lot of things that we don’t think about exposing our dogs to until they come up.

Thanks for the video! POTS was the first sign of my Ehlers Danlos syndrome. It took a lot of trial and error on medications before finding what works for me. Clonidine/Guanfacine and Adcirca are what ended up to be my combo. I also take Pyridostigmine for my EDS digestive motility issues, but that also helps a bit with the POTS as well. It seems counterintuitive to take medications which lower blood pressure when POTS causes blood pressure crashes, but these medications actually stabilize my blood pressure. With EDS, it's dangerous to take medications which jack up blood pressure. Wearing compression calf sleeves like the marathon runners wear also helps, and I sometimes get saline infusions during the hot months of the year.

Hi, Madison! My 15 year old daughter has lupus and we suspect POTS. She has an appointment at UAB on the 6th. We are getting a lab puppy in December and I'm wondering if a "regular" person like me can train a service dog. I have no idea where to start.
@MadisonStrong3 ай бұрын
Hi! I’m a completely regular person and I know a lot of other people self train too! I would definitely recommend working with a trainer who basically trains you to train your puppy! I have a trainer who specializes in service dog work and right now I meet with her every other week and we go out and about and she gives me tips, shows me what I need to work on at home, etc. it’s a lot less expensive and you’re still getting to be hands on/forming that bond but you also have support if you need it! But for the first six months, I highly encourage you to just let your puppy be a puppy and work on socializing,desensitization and basic obedience! Training a puppy too soon can lead to burn out and ultimately them washing! There’s also a lot of owner trained service dog groups, sometimes they can be brutal but they also have good info!!

My sis was diagnosed with it years ago. She says yoga and massages help a lot. She is able to work full time from home. She has I think 5 cats now , 2 large dogs and fish and rabbits. She goes to church every Sunday , has 1-2 game nights with friends every week . She seems to be doing pretty well and handling it well. She doesn’t ever talk about it though. Not sure if she has a very mild form of it but she never complains and sometimes I forget she even has it bc she seems to be doing so well with it.
