This song makes me think about traveling to an alternate universe of this world where things are right and good and where everything turns out fair and where there is no betrayal or hate and where you can do anything you want and you have no walls holding you in. A world that is truly made right and is better than unlike this world that was built to fail from the start. a world where anything you dream can become real. Even if that dream was something crazy like the ability to fly or dreaming unicorns were real. A world that is pure and exciting and you are free to simply be yourself. A world like no other and where heartbreak is healed and will never exist again.

My folks, they left the TV on I was falling in love years before I ever met someone Like a prayer, you don't expect an answer Though you ask for one And sure my love would come along Like some little bird and only I would recognize its home Like the actors I seen on the television With the stage lights on What I found was a gamble You threw yourself in with me Made a cross and you lit a candle But we were only strangers cornered in a dark room Projecting slides of cozy lives on the wall In the dark I thought I saw you Or was it nothing at all Of everyone I ever knew I'm giving it all to you I'm asking everything in return And I have nothing left to lose I'll get it back through you And take your offer It's time I wake and I'm still alive Now in my expiration date imagine my surprise Some backwards take on the book of Job His life was a wager and mine's a joke Give him what he wants, he will never know He's tired of trying to let himself go Of everyone I ever knew I've gotten used to you I've grown attached to you being here With everyone I ever knew I've learned to count on you As my own fingers Of everyone I ever knew I've gotten close to you I've grown attached to you being here With everyone I ever knew I've learned to count on you As my own fingers

I was born in September And like everything else, I can't remember I replaced it with scenes from a film that I will never know And I blinked, it was over I was thinking my life would get slower That I would sort this shit out when I'm sober It gets better now that you're older I read the scares on the front page It says we're waiting around for an ice age It says our comforts, they come with a price tag They cured the cancer but discovered a new plague They say just think of the children And imagine the world that we've willed them Is populated with weirdos to kill them And break their hearts And everybody knows That this the end It's now fashionable Dinner party conversation Now I'm as old as you were when you had me Should I be afraid? Should I start a family? Raise them in the wild 'cause up against the city My love is such a small thing When you're young, you're hot You have your whole life before you Everyone will adore You'll grow up, you'll be an astronaut Or anything you want What goes up, goes up in flames And now your choices surround you Indecision confounds you And you're pacing around the place Shows you everything you're not And then the brief little romance You committed a soul without its consent To live a life as a form without its content Because young people get bored everyday Yeah young people, young people get bored Never went to church, thought a song was going to save me So I wrote a hymn on the guitar that you gave me Singing what you spoke, we built a fire just for smoking You know hope is just a small thing I just called to tell you I just called to say Learn all your mistakes You were my inspiration And it wasn't all we hoped for But we shake it off and we say Here's your yellow ribbon I am your consolation I was born in September And if I died today Just know I don't regret you Some things I can't explain It's a slow descent It's a loveless place Every goddamn day Let it go No matter where you go Know that I will follow I just called to tell you I just called to say Learn all your mistakes Passed down through generations Play "Young Fathers" on Amazon Music Unlimited (ad) Writer(s): Kyle Morton AZLyrics T Typhoon Lyrics album: "White Lighter" (2013) Typhoon - White Lighter album cover Prelude (Instrumental) Artificial Light Young Fathers Morton's Fork Possible Deaths The Lake Dreams Of Cannibalism 100 Years Prosthetic Love Hunger And Thirst Caesar Common Sentiments Post Script Submit Lyrics Soundtracks Facebook Contact Us Advertise Here Privacy Policy Cookie Policy DMCA Policy Lyrics licensed by MusixMatch Copyright © 2000-2023 AZLyrics.com

It’s almost like we all start out on boats of life, all very similar, carved from the same wood, that become more weathered depending on what waters we sail.

Unhand me I am not a criminal But I've played a guilty part In the modern sense that one pretends Their life is original I wrote a book and I will call it something cynical The story is slow the hero does not change And if he can then he won't anyway Instead his foes and lovers all become identical I fled the country I thought I'd leave this behind But I built the same damn house On every acre I could find And I tried to fake my own death Just shake the devils from my mind And I said Unhand me I am not a criminal And if I am I paid the man just let me go Soon enough you will be dancing at my funeral

i love this song, i remember a sunday, may 24, 2020, it was the date i felt, that my love would come, my body would shiver, my heart felt such a strong energy, everything seemed to have life, the trees, everything it was beautiful, the way the wind reached me, I was determined that I would find my love, I would find the woman of my life that week, the days were beautiful, I stayed on the street until the sun went down, the covid was horrible, it was a sad time but that specific week i felt something so fabulous, on the 30th of may, a girl called me, i never reply to profiles without pictures, and girls don't call me lol but i replied and made puns in the first message without even knowing each other, 1 month later boyfriends and we are together until today, we started dating on July 3, 2020, and she has a birthday on July 8 and I am on July 9, many coincidences hahah when I hear this song I go back to that week, I heard it several times in those days of May 2020 was everything so magical, I wish other people feel it, it's the best feeling anyone can feel. :)

I was so lost, broken and hopeless when my wife found me. I'd been through the ultimate betrayal and divorce, and had lost everything that mattered to me. I had been praying for a miracle for over a year when she came into my life. She is my miracle. I think about all that she means to me and weep tears of joy. We were married 9 years ago today, on the one month anniversary of our first date. Some would call it a gamble to marry someone you just met, but when God rearranges the universe just for you, you don't hesitate or ask questions. You just go with it. It's the best thing I've ever done.
