When I was still a Catechumen 20 years ago in the RCIA programme, I used many sacramentals and I found them really helpful to me in my focus for prayer and contemplation for God, given that I wasn't yet baptised at that time. They helped me to connect to God [and also the Catholic community, because as Catechumen, sometimes in terms of spiritual vibe and sensory, we often felt we were still from the outside]. That's why I always encourage Catechumens during their RCIA journey to use sacramentals. Now that I am a Catholic, I still use sacramentals in my prayer and spiritual life but not as much as when I was a Catechumen. Now I focus on adoring and encountering Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in the adoration room and receiving Holy Communion during mass. Of course, my Rosary bead is still a must have.💖

Thank u your eminence. You ur right. Our moral n ethical compass is the word of the Lord, especially the gospels. The world has embarked on the wide road to peridition while some, the remnant have chosen the narrow path. That path is challenging, filled with many distractions n temptations. It can only be overcome with his grace if we open our soul to him.

Thank you for this. Kudos to the ladies and gentleman who had the courage to put yourself on video to make this conversation possible so Fr can come in to explain. The convo articulated aspects that I’ve journeyed through in my dating phase and marriage (now in my 2nd decade), and I’m affirmed of my struggles. Highly recommend this to all who seek to understand how sex can be holy for a married couple.

Thank u your eminence. U give us much hope. ‘For if we hope for what we cannot see, the we wait with endurance’ ( Heb). Our hope in Christ Jesus Our Lord is an existential longevity n gift. He is always there impelling us to trust him through his grace. It is precisely through his grace that he distributes his faith, hope n love to us. There is no greater gifts than these 3 theological virtues. The presence of Christ was so overwhelming in St.Francis Xavier that he boldly crossed geographical, racial n religious boundaries to preach the gospel.

When it comes to sex, women have disadvantage. Women get pregnant and get the blame & despise from people. Men can just walk away freely. Women doesnt know they are on the losing side when it comes to sex. Who is looking after the baby. Will men bear responsibility? Sex is sacred and should not treat like an experience/experiment to have baby. Like the priest said having sex is two being faithful & giving all of them no matter what. Let GOD comes first in the marriage before having sex

Great discussion. The priest was insightful and cared to elaborate on his ideas without sounding 'holier than thou'. Good questions from the hosts too, who were not afraid to confront difficult questions.

Thank you for covering this topic! As someone who practised abstinence with my then boyfriend, now husband for over 10 years before we married, it surely wasn't easy. Especially because the world tells that you that sex is an important part of getting to know your partner before you marry. I am here to assure anyone who reads this and has been waiting to let you know that, waiting was 100% worth it. I never had to worry about getting pregnant, STDs and that gave the both of us such freedom to pursue our own self development whilst being in a relationship. Sex is holy and when reserved for marriage is absolutely liberating and magical and never boring. And I think I can safely say that after being with my bf/ husband for over 16 yrs with 2 beautiful kids in tow. So hang in there, fellow Catholics. It is never easy but always worth it!

I love how the ladies here were like more adament with clarifying why it applied more particularly to women especially in traditional times. 🤣 Fr's perspective on how morality is based on whats good for human nature and how this human nature doesnt change even if culture evolves, cos we're intrinsically made for good..and hence, morality shouldnt change even as society evolves too. Was a really good answer!
@theadventurer160220 күн бұрын
Isn't this analogous to those people who want to become Christians but don't believe in the need to be baptised and won't go for baptism? In this sense marriage is a sacrament (it is in the Church) and even outside the Church, it is a civil union that mirrors the likeness and purpose of a sacrament. In short, marriage is a must to have before the couples can live together.

Thank u yr grace. Like listening to you. “Christ cannot be reached without sacrifice n suffering”(St. Jose Maria Escriva: founder of Opus Dei). Another priest Monsignor Joseph Krempa quoted: There’s a grace in every crisis. A crisis is an avenue where the good Lord channels his incredible mercy n love to all of us, healing us in the process.
