Victoria was criminally overlooked and underrated as a singer. She was so much better than people said, especially the tone deaf critics. The girl could sing her ass off.

I wish they had gone this direction. It kept the fun of the Spice Girls without trying so hard to be one word: mature. I get the thinking back then & especially Victoria saw the landscape changing to the R&B sound & sleek visuals, but there was a positive fun that they lost in that process.

Victoria (?) singing Geri's parts was actually not that bad. I remember I didn't like them as a four piece, but they weren't that bad, just less good without Geri <3 Now they are less good without Victoria.

I got 2 copies of Step To Me back in the day, plastic case and cardboard case. My local shop used to accept 20 ringpulls in exchange for a Spice Girls Pepsi poster (I guess they wanted the CD too!)

Little known fact- Simon Fuller had approached Pepsi to set up this endorsement partnership before the Spice Girls had even released Wannabe! Pepsi took a gamble on this completely unknown band and it paid off- as the Girls became more and more famous, Pepsi added more and more money and airtime to the deal and this ended up being their biggest money-making year at the time.

Crazy that we never got to see them perform it at the Brits but at least we got the audio. They could have simply used dubbed audio from the album version if they had wanted to.

This old spice girls Pepsi tv commercial takes me back to the summer of 1997 when I was 10 years old at the time and I used to collect Pepsi cans of the spice girls faces on them. Victoria Emma Melanie C Geri and Melanie B ❤️🩷💛💜💚
