Sir I am doing rotating hollow shaft inside which the oil is being filled. And the shaft is having small holes so that the oil splashes away to cool the stationery components around it due to centrifugal force when it is rotated. How to do this sir?

thanks for sharing fds file. why did you set HVAC properties in Louvered output of Jet fans? these numbers how calculate? (I have a Jet fan with 30 degree angled in Z plan) what is exactly UVW in louverd HVAC Vent? thanks in advance
@StreamCFD13 жыл бұрын
UVW is the vector indicating the direction of flow from the VENT. For example: &OBST XB=1.0,2.0,0.0,1.0,0.0,1.0 / &VENT XB=1.0,1.0,0.0,1.0,0.0,1.0, SURF_ID='HVAC', ID='HVAC OUTLET', UVW=-1,0,1 / The above input defines a vent lying in the y-z plane facing in the x direction. The flow vector indicates that the flow from this vent is in the -x direction with a 45 degree up angle (the x and z components are equal in size). FDS will set the tangential velocity of the vent to obtain the specified direction indicated by UVW. This will only be done if the vent is inputting gas into the domain. Note that the values given for UVW are normalized to a unit vector. For details refer to section 12.2.7 of FDS user guide
@hassanasz15003 жыл бұрын
@@StreamCFD1 thanks for your answer. In above example for a vent 30 degree up angle in vector form: Vel=[-cos(30)i+0j+sin(30)k]*velocity Vel=[Ui+Vj+Wk]*velocity is it correct?

Sir, I am a mechanical engineering undergraduate student. My thesis topic is about metro train passing through a tunnel using ansys fluent. This includes sliding mesh and user defined function. I have liked your geometry. May I use your geometry concept??If you permit it, this will be very helpful for me.
hello friend , this video was so informative. Usually I use fluent . I am mechanical engineering senior student and my graduation is related some how to underground motion. if it possible to have this Ansys files it would be helpful for me to study the pressure and velocity contours. I appreciate your help and thanks in advance. [email protected][email protected]

Can the Ansys fluid dynamics software simulate the effects of heated or cooled fluids within a system?
@StreamCFD14 жыл бұрын
Yes it can, you can add heat generation
@unvergebeneid4 жыл бұрын
Interesting, but there is something wrong with the simulation. Those particles go right through the pointy parts of the wall, thus re-merging with the rest of the stream at more of a 90-degree angle than an almost 180-degree angle.
@hurkyl15604 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's an error. I watched another video that demonstrates the flow with actual water by injecting dye, and you can see the same pools of relatively stagnant water that block the flow, redirecting it to round the corners rather than continuing in the reverse direction. And that's basically what I expected to happen; the description I've heard in other sources that say it would hit at a a near 180-degree angle really sounded very much like either an oversimplification or possibly a naive rationalization.
@unvergebeneid4 жыл бұрын
@@hurkyl1560 I'm not necessarily doubting the qualitative result but I looked at it frame by frame and things really move through solid walls in the video.
@StreamCFD14 жыл бұрын
@Penny Lane, Yes I have observed that, actually idk why ansys discovery is ignoring that small feature, there should be some settings to control defeaturing size.
