6 foot 7 inches, which bike should I be looking at?

Road king with moderate ape hangers and a seat that sets you further back.

Very good video for not just new riders but even valid for riders looking for their second bike. Be honest with yourself, your desires of usage, and your needs. Don’t follow any current fads or trends for popularity seeking approval from others that truly could care less about you. “Your Decisions will determine the outcome of your rider experience through the path we call life.”

This is great.. honest, direct guidance about how to pick your first Harley. I love the "don't worry about what other people, get what fits YOU" message that's repeated throughout. Thank you for publishing this!

So a Dyna Soft tail, is that a good beginner bike?
@MG-ks1qg5 күн бұрын
Yes. Low center of gravity, easy to ride, comfortable, and plenty of power.

As a young dude that has just gotten into the idea of getting a harley, this video has been more helpful to me than anything else so far. Appreciate how thorough and honest your reviews were!

I really think harley should re-introduce their street 500-750 series. From what ive seen it seems like the absolute best starter bike and will help keep new buyers/considerers like myself interested
@MG-ks1qg5 күн бұрын
No. The problem with the street 500-750 is that they are weak and don't sound good. If you buy a street 500 or 750, you will outgrow it in a month or so. And it's just underwhelming. You buy it and think, "seriously? THIS is a harley-davidson? I'm getting passed by everyone, this bike isn't loud, and it's not very comfortable. And I have 2 more years of payments. Harley sucks." The bike leaves a bad taste in your mouth. THAT is why they don't make em anymore.

The tire plan for me paid for itself a couple of times. The dealership service plan was great but I knew you use it to the letter. It covered up to 20,000 miles and I used every aspect of it. I had one compensator replaced under warranty and one hydraulic clutch seal replaced under recall. My SGS now has just shy of 58,000 miles of smiles. Bone stock engine. Great bike! I purchase practical accessories. My next accessory purchase is oil cooler fan and then looking a a Wilber’s suspension system. I own multiple motorcycles. I’m a fifty year plus rider. My son at lunch said to me the other day,” Pop, you talk about doing maintenance and repairs to your motorcycles but I never hear you talk about that with your Harley.” Now I’m throwing salt over my shoulder…😉 Love my Harley!

I'm a fairly new rider. One year plus on the road. Having absolutely no motorcycle experience with motorcycles i took the Harley MSF course. Shortly after that I was hell bent on buying a Sportster. I ended up getting a iron 883. Loved it for the first summer. However im finding out that after riding for a while I am getting bored with the iron and want more horsepower. I consider myself a very cautious level headed guy. But I now regret buying the Sportster and wished I would have went straight to the soft tail line

Buy an late model bike for as cheap as possible. Ride it for 3,000 miles then trade it in for the bike you want. You’ll learn everything you are looking for from a bike in that period and won’t end up belly up on a loan and when you drop it, you will it won’t hurt as much.
@kenster007 Жыл бұрын
Yep, get all your scars and dents on a cheaper bike. All dealers will sell you 12000 dollar sporty as a 1st bike because they sell bikes.

@Tribelokoyes a Honda shadow. Dependable and you won't outgrow it in a month. You can get on one at a good price.
@glenngotts1380 Жыл бұрын
@Tribeloko depending on what you are looking for. Never go wrong with the Honda shadow route. Honestly buy a 125CC dirt bike go play off road and learn there.

Big question, I'm gonna be a first rider. And I'm thinking that I want a bigger bike, because I'm 6 ft 205 pounds, and feel the Sportster ain't big enough. I'm looking for maybe a Fatboy, because I also want to make long rides on my motorcycle. Do you recommend the Fatboy?
@Phuq_it Жыл бұрын
I’m 6ft 230… I bought the iron 883 deadwood green, already customized and loud. It fits me perfectly. I have never rode a motorcycle in my life and this thing is plenty of fun. I had to listen to a rider who has experience to get the perfect shift. If I hit second just right the front end will pop up. It’s heavy but prefect for the corners with someone who has never taken a corner. Plus you can customize the crap out of it
@BNatoAk Жыл бұрын
Unless your really up there in weight and 6ft I would recommend a bigger motor, but your fine to have a lifetime of fun on a sportster. At 6ft even, I got forward controls and show off my beauty every chance I get.
@MG-ks1qg5 күн бұрын
Don't get a sportster. Especially if you want to go on long rides. Get a dyna or road king instead.

The hate from those to broke to buy one is strong in this comment section. They don’t own one, yet it’s own there mind enough to comment about them. I was once a hater, until I found myself in a position to actually own one, now that one is three and they park next to two KTM’s, for when I want experience. It’s all about different experience s, A big HD V Twin definitely have a soul out their own.
