Very 🥰 No, I think we were very lucky! The worst place for them was at our previous parkup, but even that wasn't many, no worse than at home! We specifically planned to go either May or September to try and avoid them, and thankfully it paid off 😊

Where's the most beautiful road you’ve driven?
@sarahb265228 күн бұрын
The Brenner Pass, which is a mountain pass over the Alps which forms the border between Italy and Austria. We drove along it when we were doing a year travelling in Europe. Stunning scenery. Scotland looks stunning too, the viaduct looks similar to ones close to us on Dartmoor. It is lovely to see all the beauty and nature, thanks for sharing.

There's just so much of the world to see! We have plans for Europe in the future, we're sticking to the UK while we have the dogs, but there's still so many places we'd like to visit here anyway! It's my pleasure, glad you liked the video 😊

hi glad you made scotland ,galloway is overlooked tbh ,i too love to be in nature its a healer ,and im looking at mazda bongo as a option of van ,any info on bongo be grateful thanks sam
@wherekatygoesАй бұрын
Yes, it really is beautiful there, so glad we went 😍 I think that's why I love vanlife so much, it encourages us to connect with nature more, the other day I spent an hour out in the van in a forest carpark editing the next video, had the door open, surround by trees, it was bliss 😊 The biggest problem with Bongos is rust, particularly the arches and coolant pipes underneath, and I'd also say try and find one that's been used as a daily runner, or at least more than just the odd trip. Are you on Facebook? There's quite a few bongo groups that are brilliant for advice, loads of 'Bongo Experts' on there. Mazda Bongo Owners is the biggest one. If you can make it to any of the Bongo meets they're useful, it's very a friendly community and you'll be able to look at the different conversion options. We like the inside space the back kitchen unit gives, but the only downside is cooking with the gas is tricky when it's windy 🙈 Good luck on the search

We used go camping from Sept to Feb it’s the best thing ever camping in the rain, much prefer it to hot days. Moving to a campervan now due to arthritis
@wherekatygoes3 ай бұрын
The rain certainly made it very peaceful and also a more memorable trip. I completely agree re hot days! Especially with our dogs, we can't do anything! Enjoy your campervan 😊 We'd like to get a bigger van soon, so we spend longer away.
@stephenrussell60743 ай бұрын
@@wherekatygoes as long as you have a space to sleep and a place to sit, I don’t think the size matters much if you are at a camp site with showers and toilets. If you are off grid then your power storage, solar and gas capacity and water storage are the limiting factors, again the size doesn’t matter much unless you have one the size of a coach with expanding walls there is no difference in what you can do inside the van. Read, play table games , watch TV, use a pc or tablet. All those you can do in any van. The larger vans are basically more expensive on fuel and harder to take places and park. Unless you have children then you need two seating areas, I would just take a tent or awning though.
@wherekatygoes3 ай бұрын
I agree if you're always on campsites that size doesn’t matter, we have plenty of space when we have the awning, but more often than not we are traveling around each day, doing more stealth camps. So we would just like to have a proper bed space rather than having to move everything around morning and night after setting up and taking down the bed. So we don't want to go up too much in size, just sort of transit size. We've just had 10 days in Scotland and I'd say we've lost at least 2 hours a day rearranging the van. Part of the camping experience I know, but it feels like we've had to do a whistle stop tour of places (first time we've been and it's been such beautiful weather so we've tried to see as much as we could) and would have been nice just to crawl into bed after some long days of walking 😂
