Thank you for the bit about how to zig zag stitch by hand! I love working by hand and sometimes don't know how to do a stitch when I find instructions for a sewing machine. I won't forget this method now!

Your video was the only video that showed exactly how to knot the thread. Other people go way too fast or have their fingers in the way. Thank you!

Those big, blunt yarn needles can be good for very young kids to practice with, if you give them burlap or some other loosely woven fabric to try. You can set it into an embroidery hoop and thread the needle with colorful yarn so they can just play with it and get used to stab stitches. Probably they'll make a big scribbley type mess, but that's what little kids' art always looks like at first! Yarn is just a different medium. I think it would make a charming sampler to hang up alongside their later work to show how their skill and dexterity can improve over time.

Yes! Absolutely! Those blunt needles are perfect for burlap but not felt!

Thank you for this! I started a sewing club with my students and was really struggling to find a way they could understand, as the "rolling" method was too difficult for them. This is perfect!

That's great!!! The rolling method actually is too difficult for me...I can't seem to ever get it!!!!!! Also, I love that you've started a sewing club with your students!!! Any chance you'd like to join the Global Kids Sewing Party in March??

I made Zenki's with my grandchildren this week and they LOVED it! In fact I think I created my own little sewing monsters. They will want to make more every visit! The grandkids are ages are 5, 8,9 and 10; 3 boys and 1 girl. They all loved it and I loved it too! Thank you for the inspiration and I will be following your future ideas!!

This was so cute. What age would this be appropriate for?
@SewaSoftie Жыл бұрын
You could do it with 8 year olds and up. Also if you're teaching a beginner you can just cut the front pieces as one shape so they don't need to over stitch the two front pieces of the body together. That will just make it quicker to finish!
