Great way to paint figures. I'm looking for ideas and you have a great method. Quick question, when you applied the panel liner - did you apply it directly over the paint or did you put on a protective clear coat first?
@135scalefail4 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s taken me years to get to this level, and even that isn’t the best! But I’m pretty happy with where I’m at, I didn’t put a protective coat on, just went straight over the paint, then use a clear coat, as I find it dulls the panel line down and make it look less bold? If that makes sense?

Cheers! I was actually wondering about the thinner stuff you flow into the wheels before the pigments!! Good tip on the clear printing resin though, I have some of that and now have another use for it!!!
@135scalefail10 ай бұрын
This hobby is already expensive enough! Gotta find a use for everything haha! And the thinner is just standard enamel thinner, think it’s the humbol one? Makes the pigment stick a bit better? But can still brush away any excess?

Hey buddy, I love your work, can you show me how did you do the flag ?
@135scalefail Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, thank you so much, and all I did to make the flag, was cut up a square/rectangle piece of tissue (not toilet roll) tissue you get from the little packs? And just used a pencil to draw it out and painted it with some thinned down tamiya paint, then Jobs a gooden! Hope that’s helpful?

Shame about fixing that one suspension arm in the wrong position. One way to avoid that is to put it on a flat surface to check before the cement has set and you can adjust to be level.

Hey Craig, i used a cut up piece of tissue, not toilet roll, find that’s too brittle, the type you find in the pocket packs of tissue, mixed in with some pva and water and you have a nice tarp/canvas

What did you use to take the top layer of green off reveal the hull red, also how did you make the stowage bins look distorted, damaged and bent. Great video and great talent 👍
@135scalefail Жыл бұрын
Hey Craig, thanks for the compliment, and for the chipping I used AK heavy chipping fluid in the airbrush, just spray it on let it dry, paint your top coat and use warm water with a stiff brush to take it off, and the stowage bins I used a tealight candle and softened the plastic and used the butt end of a paint brush to add a dent. Hope that’s helpful?

I think it turned out beautiful, well done on the weathering, it works perfectly with the base. I would however add some figures to give it context and a bit more realism, an empty vehicle in motion always looks a bit off. Add a couple of figures and it would be a perfect little Diorama !

Enjoyed your video and thanks for posting . I built the same diorama - more or less - last autumn with the STuG III G late production by Blitz/Takom kit and 3 figures from the Alpine range . I also used twine/hemp same as yourself but I 'untwined' the cut ones before gluing , tying a knot then using tweezers to achieve the desired effect. It is quite laborious gluing them to the base but after priming with Mr.Hobby mahogany primer the result was pleasing. I've now subscribed to your channel and look forward to your next upload .
