Hello sir. Thank you for this very insightful video. I do have one question. When accompanying an Alto saxophone, which usually plays in the pitch Bb, what's your recommendation? I have tried tuning my panchama Shruthi mridangam to 6.5, but the sound is too high pitched and sharp, and it sounds more like a Tabala. Is it common to tune the mridangam to a ga or a pa of the raaga instead of sa?

@sumanthhejjaji6990 namasthe, for instruments that are louder / base sound we need to lower the male pitch instruments and match. Say a C mrudangam brought down to B. G TO A# is too much of stretch and because of which tone / sound will be very shrill. A to A# ( b flat) on a thick drumhead mrudangam or tabla is recommended if you don't have base / male shruthi mrudanga. Thinner the membrane higher the harmonics. Say instead of 55hz or 110hz it will match at 220hz or 440hz for the same pitch. Another way is to use panchama / madhyama shruthi if scale/ raaga permits...

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Ealier people used to prepare out of skin of naturally dead animals. But, as money is associated few people don't hesitate to get animals killed. So only people who got to know about that started vegan. Using vegan eco friendly is not at all killing the tradition but to stop killing innocent (harmless) animals.
