Are there any food restrictions? what are the side effects after 40% of the liver is removed?
@SimplyHappyMarlo
@SimplyHappyMarlo 6 ай бұрын
Hi. Before and after my surgery I personally was given no food restrictions. But that may be different for others, so best to check with the physician. The only major side effects that I have dealt with were/are the adhesions that tend to form in your body after having surgery. And anytime the barometric pressure changes I feel it at my incision site, often with sharp pains. This is what I experience(d) as I mentioned, so it might be different for someone else. Hope this helps whoever is getting the surgery.

So glad I found this video. Thank you so much for sharing. Found my liver mass by ultra sound in 2021. Came of the pill just over a year now and unfortunately it has grown. Have been waiting for surgery for 3 months now and having so many other issues, but am being told I wouldn’t have “symptoms” with this issue. All my symptoms are exactly the same as what you’ve said and am having my gallbladder investigated. Am so nervous about the surgery and what recovery will be like and what the next steps will be, as I would like a family, but pregnancy hormones could cause regrowth of the mass. Xx

What surgery did you have? How was recovery, when were you able to get out of bed? I have this too
@SimplyHappyMarlo
@SimplyHappyMarlo Жыл бұрын
I had a surgery where about 40% of my liver was removed, as the majority of that was the tumor. The liver does regenerate though, just fyi. Recovery was actually pretty great all things considered. Once I left the hospital I could walk around,but needed help with cooking and around my home. I did 10-20min of walking around my neighborhood every day, about 1-2x a day. And then after about 2 weeks would take longer walks every day. I recovered much quicker than the Dr/Surgeon expected. But do listen to your Dr/Surgeon and main Physician about exercise and recovery plans. That’s my experience and my advice. Good luck with everything!

Too much clutter. Also, if you have an accident and G-d forbid end up in a rollover or landing on your hood, if you survive, your seatbelt cutter / window punch is gonna fly right on outta there. You need to velcro it into a secure location. I have mine velcroed to the inside of my console lid. That way it's accessible but still in an enclosed area. Secured, it cannot fly around the car, and cannot fall out and away from arm's reach if I survive and open the lid. But I want you to really give thought to the amount of clutter in your car. Imagine your car in an accident and ask yourself.. what can fly up and around my car striking me or someone else.. what can hinder me from escape if it were to end up laying everywhere. Get rid of the amount of mess. What doesn't go inside my console, glove box, or side seat organizer, or in the organizer behind my seat behind a closed velcroed flap goes into a small backpack that I have seatbelted into my backseat. Anything beyond that.. goes in the trunk.

I was diagnosed with this FNH tumor a few months ago during an MRI. It was a little more than 5 cm. I have this horrible fear that what if the diagnosis is wrong and it’s actually something more terrible 😣 I am trying to have positive thoughts but I feel like this diagnosis was hard for me to hear
@SimplyHappyMarlo
@SimplyHappyMarlo 2 жыл бұрын
I definitely know how you feel. But it’s better to get it diagnosed and by a Dr (even 2 just got that 2nd opinion) and know than not know. The fear is usually worse than the result. Take it from someone who went through this. Having the tumor sucks and going through the sickness from it is horrible. But get the surgery to have it removed if you can. There is no way to reverse or really shrink it. So getting it removed is the best option. Stay positive. Try to do as much research as you can(but don’t go crazy in doing too much). Sending lots of healing vibes and love your way!

22:04 22:04 Hi 👋 I just want to say thank you for this video. I recently got a couple of imaging tests, and I am having a hard time since the MRI does not specify what kind of mass I have. It only says that I have a focal mass, and I need a liver biopsy done or other imaging test to diagnose me.I recently scheduled my appointment with a specialist so he can guide me on this diagnosis. I have a good time during the dayband times where I am feeling so depressed. I am going through some much right now, and I just feel hopeless. You are a strong woman for doing what you need to do to be healthy. Kisses and hugs.Thank you so much for this video.

Something to look into with any birth control or any medication you take…what the possible side effects could be and the percentages for how many people that happens to. Talk to your Doctor. Go online and research. Especially look into online forums. Since my surgery I keep a very close eye on side effects of any medication I take so that something like this doesn’t happen again. Just be careful and do research are my best pieces of advice. 😀

I was on birth control since I was 12. I’m 33 now. 8 years ago I had a resection for the FNH, came off birth control briefly to see if it made any difference( it didnt). So I went back on it. Last year I came off it permanently to attempt to get pregnant. I too have horrific abdominal pains and we’re trying to determine if the FNH grew back, or if I have endometriosis, or another GI issue. Getting a colonoscopy next Friday and hopefully an mri soon.

I also have a "baseball" size FNH!! Jan 2019 I had a sudden, out of nowhere, gall bladder attack!! During the CT and then a sonogram it was confirmed to be the GB, but the ER doc saw a mass on my liver. During surgery a biopsy was taken on the mass and sent off (I wished they would have just done the second part at that time). But then I had to go for more bloodwork, and then a aspirated needle guided biopsy. and another MRI. After seeing the specialist, who suggested that if I have no pain or problems from it, to "Name it and take it on vacation!" I haven't had it rechecked since 10/19, so I plan to this year. Now that I just saw your scar...maybe I am better off leaving it alone! 😕
@SimplyHappyMarlo
@SimplyHappyMarlo 2 жыл бұрын
Of course I am not a medical professional, just sharing my experience. But based off of my experiences and seeing all the doctors I did, this is NOT something to ignore and just let be. While yes, having a surgery is and can be a bit anxiety ridden, and then lifetime scar sucks, it is far better to have things taken care of than left alone to get worse. This find of tumor is not something that will reverse itself or shrink. I can tell you that from what the 3-4 Dr’s I saw told me prior to my surgery. This is not a problem that will just go away if you ignore it. I highly recommend getting checked out again and consider your options.

@@SimplyHappyMarlo Thank you! I do plan to have it checked again this year. Its just been hard to get in with all the Rona BS going on. I also wonder if it has anything to do with not being able to lose much weight, that was regained after surgery (hysterectomy/gallbladder)... no more BC pills after that one in 2016, GB 2019.

I have a FNH Tumor that is around 4cm. Went from 1.7cm to 4cm within a year. I was told it was the BC pill. I came off of it over a year ago and the Tumor grew more. I have been having the exact same symptoms as you had. Some days it consumes my entire day/night. The surgeon I was working with said she won’t do surgery unless my symptoms are worse… also, I’m in Canada so Heathcare here isn’t so great because it’s free. They pick and choose what’s priority over here. I’m glad you got the surgery and are feeling better.

PAMELA Hi Pamela. I was consistently sick, almost 1-2 a month, having “episodes” (vomiting and more). I am no expert obviously but if you start to feel sick at all please do your body a favor and get them removed before it gets any worse. They won’t dissolve from what my specialist (who was also my surgeon) told me. What pills if I may ask? I was taking the generic of Ortho Tri Cyclen.
