I’m interested in learning more about the chemistry behind PED's and sarms and their effects, especially in terms of both potential benefits and health risks. If you have any insights or resources, I’d really appreciate your guidance. I want to ensure I have an accurate understanding from a scientific perspective an also give people more perspective on what it is.

Peanut butter doesn't contain butter!? I honestly did not know that and I feel kinda duped. I'm with Big Milk on this. We need to know what we're consuming. But okay, assuming that "butter" is describing a texture, and "milk" is describing an appearance or usage. Fine. In the same way that a sausage or a burger is a shape. I reluctantly accept that argument. Cheese, though? That's a different thing. Because describing cheese is very difficult without describing its contents. A ricotta is nothing like a parmesan, a blue cheese is nothing like a mozzarella, and so on. Texture, color, taste, all different. The thing they all have in common is dairy. So calling something a cheese if there's no dairy in it should be forbidden. And it probably is. I as a consumer (and cheese lover) want that reassurance. Vegan cheese? Wtf is even in that stuff?
@itsyaboinadiaАй бұрын
well a "cheese" is just a fermented "milk." just like there are types of "milks" there are types of "cheeses" depending on what bacteria you use and for how long. even tofu was originally described as a soy cheese by foreigners.
@itsyaboinadiaАй бұрын
also, the food companies do list whats in their product on the ingredients label on the packaging :)

Aspiring Polymer chemist here! To add to the first question, the Einstein equation for dilute solution viscometry proved avogadros number to be a universal constant! Einstein didnt really care about fluid dynamics but did care about the nature of molecules, turns out the relationship between viscosity ("eta") and a "phi" term (encompassing the hydrodynamic volume of a molecule) gives avogadros number! pretty cool

I'm not even a podcast guy but now I am I think lol subscribed What do you guys think about the carnivore diet? When you stop eating carbs your body doesn't really use all that Vitamin C and your Vitamin C levels should actually read normal over time. I haven't had blood work done yet but I'm only a few months in. Glucose competes with vitamin C for absorption, so when carbs are cut out, the small amount that you'll find in meat will actually be absorbed. Unlike vegans, carnivores after 6+ years are not showing health issues and are actually showing massive improvements and curing diseases. The whole reason I've dived head first into this is because I have always had a severe amount of chronic kidney stones and now I have one stuck and need surgery this time... There was also excess protein and blood in my urine which was concerning. Vitamin C itself degrades into oxalate, and plants themselves are loaded with oxalates (and that's just one of MANY toxins and anti-nutrients). Carnivore makes the most sense.
@chemforyourlife4 ай бұрын
Wow wow wow what an honor to help you become a podcast guy! Our love of podcasts is what started us down this path in the first place, so welcome to the club! I feel like I haven't learned a lot about the carnivore diet, but definitely something to look into.
@HexOptimal4 ай бұрын
@@chemforyourlife Thanks! and if you're not in ketosis as we speak then yes you havn't learned nearly enough about about why so many people are talking about it now I remember thinking like 5 months ago it was the dumbest thing I've ever heard someone tell me (until a doctor told me to) and now it's the only thing that makes sense. I mean I was comparing carnivores to the flat earthers lol. Ignored it like the plague Itt is a bit of a rabbit hole but in summary: the food pyramid is a scam made to sell us slave food as health food and it's actually killing us. Eating meat with some salt is most optimal. Look up Randall cycle and free yourself from the matrix lol That's all I can say without writing a whole blog lol. You could do SEVERAL podcasts on the science of this spectacular "diet" where people get to eat until they're stuffed full and actually lose weight and be in the best shape possible

I love that you both are suspicious of the specific soap finding. That was way too specific. You reminded me & I remembered, as you suggested, only smelling "old" on relatives or neighbors who were beginning cognitive decline. When I was 3, there was a San Francisco Chronicle photographer next door who seemed old to me. My parents & I ate dinner at his house & he at ours. He smelled like a photo lab & a dance studio. When I was 12, our ballet school visited an old folks' home & he was there. Gone were the vital job & hobby smells. Now, he smelled unwell. Later, when I was 16, my grandfather was dying of asbestos exposure. He had that unwell smell. Later again, I was 26, working as a financial advisor. one of our clients came in with a specific & terrible smell. She was 32; she confided, that she was at the end-stage of lung cancer. The photographer came back. I realized, he was in the home, because had dementia, from oxygen deprivation, and the specific smell was lung cancer. As they exhaled, the smell was peculiar to that disease. The evolution of your discussion, to illness, brought back that smell. Obviously, it's not "old people" smell. Rather, it's decay. Death. It could be any age. As to "old people" smell, I am now old. I shower at least once a day, but when I work out, or garden, I need a second shower & must also repeat shampoo, to get the dust out of my hair. The other week, I didn't feel like gardening or working out. I stretched, but didn't sweat. I let two days go by. I woke one morning & went to the shower. As I put my nightie in the washing machine, I smelled it: Old Lady. I do not use scent--fear of phthalates. My nightie smelled like sweaty teenaged girl & musty old lady standing in line at the bank. Cue the bagpipes.
