Greatest day in cycling history never ever be repeated

Thanks for posting such a romantic moment in the 87' Tour.

I watched this race live in my early 20ies, now just heard 1 min in my lunch break and Duffield's thick british accent of national rider names make it for me as a Dane difficult to relate to the riders, though I know hwo they were. First time I watch this since live signal. Very interesting. Will watch last 7 mins in the middle of the night later.

Greg was way ahead of his time. Unbelievable still on the '90 that the other riders were not understanding what aerodynamics ment.

back in the day, before epo took the sport and gave it a royal shafting. I barely watch cycling these days. Occasionally i'll drop into coverage of the vuelta. The ambition to win the vuelta is not as manic as the tdf, so i'm hoping the epo issue won't be as bad, but as soon as they look as if they are doing something superhuman i just switch off. I wonder if those corrupt scientists who introduced epo to cycling ever contemplate what they have done to a once fantastic sport.

why did Greg ride with a yellow jersey ???
@socalrider9092 ай бұрын
The Yellow jersey was the Sprint Leaders jersey - while the RED striped jersey was the leaders jersey.

Notice the route they took compared to mine some twenty years earlier. Notice the roads with no shoulders or bike lanes. Very close to cars.

Simply amazing drama. The music the narration. Phil is a legend and should be given something in front of the world for simply being on another pedestal than ever other sports commentator. The nsusocnthe drama of the 88 tour made me a cycling fan who was missing Lemond but all in.
@brentmcbroom08714 ай бұрын
One of the single greatest sports commentaries ever. This should be put in gold on a record or disc. Phil was simply in the 88 tour on top of his game and no other sports commentator will ever match this drama. Liggett told a crushing story for Hampsten and an inspiring story for Delgado and rooks. The music the narration. It will never be matched in a tour. Tim Brandt was good too throughout this tour.

I lived in Austin when Lance won this rainbow jersey. He wore it proudly at one of our Tuesday night races which was amazing. I got the last copy of Velo news w Lance on the cover from Freewheeling Bicycle shop which is now signed by LA himself.

Never understood why any other bikes were allowed in the TT sections, it comes down simply to riding your normal racing bike against the clock, there was never any need to use these specialized bikes unless you are trying to sell faster speeds which defeats the purpose of the actual race bike.

I've completed 3 user research studies so far and it's been great. Even learned about some tooling that will be great for my company to look into potentially purchasing down the road.
@socalrider909 Жыл бұрын
That is great - keep on going once you hit the threshold of 10+ studies done - you will see an increase in acceptance of new studies and they will even send studies to you that fit your skill set. Once I had about 20 done - I was doing at least 5 per week. The gift card thing is wonky but I have a local Target and used it to pay for things that would normally come out of my bank account, so it was all good.
@kaydee7409 Жыл бұрын
User interviews is a scam you sign up they send you all these emails that you’ve been chosen but first you have to fill out the pre-screening questions which are so personal. I can’t tell you how many I filled out and never once I’ve got chosen it’s like they totally scammed me. They asked me all the questions in the pre-screening and then they don’t need me for any interview and they don’t have to pay me. It’s a scam don’t do it!
@socalrider909 Жыл бұрын
You have to have a special skill set usually medical or tech oriented to be chosen.. I have been chosen over 50x for studies over the last two years. If you apply for a generic study - there are thousands of people applying, so it more difficult to get studies. But once you are chosen, it is imperative to be on time and professional. You are graded by your interviewer and the more positive interviews you have the more you are chosen.
